Buying Daytona C in Palermo?

Hello everyone,
I'm planning to visit Palermo in Sicily this summer. Is it possible to buy a daytona C (116500 ln) with discount in AD stores there?
Besides, I also concern about the safety... any advice? Thanks a lot.

I can’t advise you on the safety issue but I can say that you have a better chance of a unicorn dropping out the sky and granting you three magic wishes before finding a stainless Daytona waiting for you at a retailer. A discount too? I’ll put the odds at 0.0% possibility. Actually you’ll be pretty safe because you won’t have to worry about carrying around a new daytona.

In Palermo you would lose a Daytona not gain one! Be careful, if in short sleeves stick to Casio and Seiko at most. In long sleeves don’t make it visible. If in car never open a window and furthermore even there don’t make your watch visible. Be ware of scooters and small bikes, very often such culprits will tear something up from you while on the move. Documents and money always inside pockets. Preferably don’t wear a bag of any kind unless it is full of something that you won’t regret if lost. Phones to be kept inside as well. A camera? You’d better have something small which you may keep as well inside. Of course that won’t happen to every second visitor but chances are not slim to none. Just be two times more careful.

Have fun on your trip.

Make sure you visit every Rolex AD you can. I’m sure you’ll find your dream Daytona and be stern about demanding a discount.

I went to an AD in Palermo a couple years ago.....the selection was a couple DD and DJs....I asked for a GMT and it clearly annoyed them. But they are Sicilian so looking annoyed is a pastime.

Also ask if they’ll give an even bigger discount if you bundle it with a 126710 BLRO.

Just ask yourself why italian tourists are browsing every AD in Europe by asking „Daytona“ and „Submariner“

Thank you for replying me 🙏🏻
Actually this is my father’s request but seriously I know nothing about the Rolex watch. And you are the most insightful and wisest ppl on Rolex that I can ask for. I know the question is quite stupid like asking if I can see a wild penguin in Africa... so sorry to bother you guys
And I will be much much more careful about the safety. Thanks a lot rominvicta

OP, the watch you’re talking about is a high demand piece. Highest demand SS Rolex in fact.

No, there won’t be one sitting on the display. There might be one lurking in the safe. But you have to bundle buy in order to get it.

I’m not going there with the discounts.

Yes and if you ask for a SS Blue SkyD, a new 126710 BLRO and a black one too you might even get a bigger discount!

Those ADs and their bundling tactics.

I was in palermo (palermob) in the 80s
The advice we were given for safety was

If your are outside enjoying a coffee at a table and you hear gun shots move into the cafe...
As a couple of the local Mafia families were having a turf war...

Probably differant now

Not sure you are serious on the discount but no you won't find a Daytona in the window there. However you can find some grey dealers with good stock. If you go to Catania I can recommend one via PM.

Another thing about dealers in Sicily, they used to have pretty good stock in window and they still do sometimes but off-season. During summer stock is moved to ADs that are next to popular tourist locations and some city ADs are even closed for a couple of weeks. I have seen black dial Skydweller, Sub and Tudor GMT available at ADs in the last two years.

I actually laughed out loud reading this.

Unfortunately OP, I think you need to work on developing a relationship with a local AD or go grey if you have your rights set on a stainless Daytona.
