Recommendation for DD40
Looking to get a DD40 but having a hard time deciding which is best for a daily wearer. Considering platinum ice stick dial, platinum Roman dial, or WG meteorite dial with baguettes. All are very nice but can’t decide. The blues are nice since like the smooth bezel so more discreet. Like the look of the meteorite dial and how plays with the light and how the baguette markers aren’t in your face, but not sure I want a fluted bezel. The PT meteorite looks more plain than the other PT’s. Will be my daily so any thoughts from current owners?

Great choices to have Both will look fantastic as far as the metal goes, WG and PT with the presidential bracelet look great, although I’d say the PT is a bit more shiny vs WG. The fluted bezel is unmistakable, and looks very nice. Not really “under the radar” as it is synonymous with Rolex, but wears very well as a daily, as the fluted hides scratches. The PT will wear great as a daily as well, but the polished bezel will show wear much quicker. Good luck! Both are great choices!

It really is up to you as all are very, VERY nice. That's why Rolex offers a variety of options. Get the one you love the best. If you can't decide right now, print out pics of each and, believe me, in a week or three the 'right one' will 'speak' to you.

I actually think the smooth bezel/sticks combo looks more "plain" than the meteorite. I use quotations b/c there's nothing plain about either one.
Regardless, my choice for the DD has always been for the fluted bezel. Combined with the meteorite dial and diamond markers, that would be my choice. |

Thanks for all the feedback guys! And love that dial Phez! I actually tried that one on a few weeks ago and loved it. Just was hoping to see the other blue w/sticks to compare. The meteorite dial is a new find, as didn’t know it existed until recently so just became part of the equation. My buddy showed me his YG 36 meteorite with diamond markers which was awesome so got the wheels turning.
Agree that need to chew on it a bit as like them all from online pics so having a hard time until see in the metal. Although the meteorite seems hard to find at an AD to try on prior. Will keep obsessing about it until can decide. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
