I am not sure about your selection. Not sure what you mean by "looks original."
It is undoubtedly been polished but it does not look killed. DavidSw polishes all his pre-owned pieces. Most big resellers do. |

Not over polished, but to the trained eye/WiS it has been polished. Looks fine.

Watch cannot be more than 3 or 4 years old right? How in the world has it been polished at all?

I belive you can definitely tell the watch was polished from the photos. Whether it's too much for you or not depends on the price, because if it is priced well it might be worth it, and on whether it will or will not bother you. If you think it will bother you, don't get it. No matter what we think.

If you compare the two.... noticable difference.

The fluted bezel has, as far as I am concerned, been wrecked. I would take a few light scratches rather than this, all day every day.
Why is it that some dealers/buyers seem to have a deadly fear of a few scratches but don't seem to mind polishing a watch to the extent that all the original sharpness is lost? Is the watch in the original post perhaps aimed at the uneducated consumer who assumes that a watch that has no visible scratches is as good as new? It seems like that is the kind of market a watch such as this is aimed at. |

If I am buying a 6 digit I generally don’t care with the case since they are so thick now it would take 10 crude polish jobs from a drunk watchmaker to lose any structural integrity. I agree the fluted bezel though I would rather have raw and up to my discretion. 5 digits however I don’t even want to be touched with a cape cod cloth.
Clearly we are in the minority though. The general buyer I have found scrutinizes every tiny scratch before buying but doesn’t seem to ever care if it’s been massacred due to a sloppy polish job. So I cant really blame dealers for cleaning them up...the masses like shiny things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You do have to admire the craftsmanship that has clearly gone into consistently softening the bezel that way. It has clearly taken time, effort and skill. The result has me scratching my head though .

I personally feel that it’s over polished. Looks fine but they did go to town on it.
I would rather have the sharpness of the bezel with a few scratches rather than this. But that’s me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Overdone for my liking but I'm a WIS and care a lot more about this because I'm more knowledgeable about it. To the lay person walking in off the street they would not care less because they probably don't know any better. I'd imagine they would be much less likely to buy it if it had scratches on the bezel and case.
It's only us total watch nerds who care so much about our sharper edges. The person walking in off the street may too if we sat them down to discuss it but ignorance is bliss as they say.
