Hi. Any input on this watch. Silver dial date. I have seen a lovely looking in a a reputable jewellers. What should I do/look out for if buying as it would be my first automatic watch? Should it have had a recent ROLEX service? What to look out for etc Questions to ask the jeweller. Any input help, much obliged.

Unless it has a warranty card indicating it has had an authorised Rolex service in the last five or so years I would inform the store that you will have it serviced for your own piece of mind.
The service price is £420, excluding items like hands/dial/glass. You can use that number to negotiate the price down when buying the watch. |

Thanks Watchmaker
Thanks for that.
I will ask if it has had a service. It looks pristine in its original box in the window but I haven't been in to discuss its history. As I have only small wrists, the case size of 34mm on a silver bracelet looks good. Should this be documented by being serviced only by Rolex? Any other things I should look out for? Thanks for the reply. |

Get it serviced and enjoy it like you got a new watch. They're very beautiful.
Here's one I serviced just last week, now back to the customer |

Fantastic.
Yes! I agree, a thing of beauty.
How often should a Rolex Air King be serviced? Has the 5700 a reliable movement? Cheers. |

I made a mistake with the price I told you. It is £600 for the service of a 5700. Sorry. |

I think the OP is looking at the Air-King Date... But I agree that both the OP Date and Air-King Date are nice watches. The only advice to the OP’s question (aside from the already mentioned service history) is whether you will like a 34mm diameter watch. If you have larger wrist at 7” or more, then it might not please you after a few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
