Submariner case back with engraving. Polish or replace?
Found a freshly serviced V series Sub but the case was engraved, not sure if I should pass, replace the case back or have it polished. Any advice would be most appreciated.

If it doesn’t disturb you keep it like it is.
Otherwise I would mount a new case back. Engravings are pretty deep to polish them out. Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk

I'd replace the case back, they're not that pricey.

I’m with Bas. Replacement wouldn’t be very much then you get a nice fresh back to put your own scratches on

Replace the case back but keep the original engraved one in case you decide to sell it down the road you'll have all of the original parts that were sold with the watch.

All comes down to how deep it is I guess. But I'd go with replacing it

When I bought my BLNR it had an engraved case back. It bothered me, I felt like the watch wasnt mine, like I was wearing somekne else's watch. Swapped it out and now I can sleep.

I would try polishing first before purchasing a new case-back.

I’d get a new case back but I agree, something doesn’t feel right buying a watch like that.

If the message does not connect with you, buy a new case back. Keep the orig case back for posterity.

Try polishing it out, if that doesn’t work you can always replace it.

Only buy it if the price is right in the first place.

Depending on what the engraving says would determine if I replaced it.

I have passed on a couple of pieces over the years,,,
Engravings with endearments from love ones just killed it for me,,, Just didn’t feel right,,, Each to there own,,, |
