Holidays Ruin Watches!

So, I wear my watch everyday for work (in the UK), with my suit and long sleeve shirts.

I can wear my watch for months without picking up so much as a desk dive.

I go on holiday for 3 days to a hot country and I've got so many more obstacles to think about...!

Sand, sea (more the salt), scratches from resting arm round the pool, general scratches from wearing a short sleeve shirt while drunk.... you get the idea..!

How do you guys who live in a hot country cope! ha ha... I'm so glad I live in this miserable, cloudy and rainy country...!

I'd def wear my casio or iwatch when going for outdoor activities tbh. Don't like the feeling to be mindful with the watch while trying to enjoy myself on a holiday.

Or try using a tile saw to cut brick while installing a paved pathway. Oh boy, I wish I’d taken a pic of that, the safe queen crowd would have lost their collective mind!

Stick it on a nato and it becomes a "beater", plus in hot humid weather I find the the nato much more comfortable than bracelet.

I almost always wear a Tudor BBB on a nato while traveling.

Great little beater watch and with the nato I never have to worry about bracelet scratches.

Plus it's a good watch for flying under the radar.

There are some great long sleeved sun shirts out there if you are THAT concerned about it though..

If you have one without a high polished bracelet like a sub, who cares about the scratches.....they barely show. These things are made to be worn!

I bought my watch to wear and enjoy in all circumstances, including holidays. They’re really tough watches so you have little to worry about. I think you just need to get over it!

Because people who live in hot countries aren’t constantly swimming in the sea, bathing by the pool, or lounging on the beach

I took my LBc sub on holiday last year and it was fine on the beach

I swim with the LVc everyday and dented it and got pool rash on the bracelet. It’s all part of the character.

You can’t keep everything clinically perfect forever

A pelegos is a good holiday watch if you need one.

See I view Rolex as tool watches and all models were designed to serve as such. I never saw them as dress watches, though they do a better job than any other brand at looking great in many circumstances. I also get many scratches on my Daytona which I wear as a vacation watch, but they serve as reminders of my adventures.
