I’ve been looking for a watch to add to wear daily my decisions have been pretty varied but the dssd has caught my eye, is the volume of the watch bothersome in any way ? That would be the only deal breaker for me

I am a fairly large guy (6'5 230), but wrists are average sized and never feels too hefty to me and I use it as a daily

I'm 6'4" and 295, with 8 3/8 inch wrists. I wear it every day in all attire. Go for it!

i have a 6 and 3/4 inch wrist and am not "texas" sized as per previous posters :-) (width maybe but not tall like them).
the dssd is remarkable because it really isn't that big at all (relative to what it achieves, i.e effectively 5 km of water resistance). i have seen hublot's effort. it is 30 mm thick. the dssd is ~ 17 mm thick (but this includes that rolex trick where some of that thickness is in the protrusion on caseback and it melts into your wrist). as such it is pretty much no thicker than alot of standard dive watches. for example some text here from web about omega planet ocean thickness. "OMEGA lists the 39.5mm at 14.16mm, which is close to the 14.2mm of the original 42mm Planet Ocean (2201.50.00). The 2016 43.5mm version is much thicker at 16.04mm. For comparison, the 8500 calibre Planet Oceans were 15.7 mm thick for the 42mm and 16.5mm for the 45mm version." for some reason i think it is more comfortable than my subC. i like a subC better because i really like thin watches (i think the effective thinness of a subC is an underplayed benefit as it is what makes the subC a bit classy instead of a bruiser) (i'm saying effective because as per above you minus the protrusion on caseback when wearing it.) i wear the dssd every now and then and if i only had it i'd still be happy. it is a beautifully made thing. the bezel is amazing and clasp is a bit stunning too. very comfortable and wears more like ~ half inch thick (which is still alot but better than you'd think). it does feel a tiny bit top heavy relative to other watches but that's OK too. mine is from 2008 and i really like the bracelet but some people like the newer slightly wider bracelet better. |

I’ve come so close to grabbing the Dblue, the problem is it would have to be my daily and I’ve found the case thickness to be the real problem.
That dial is true stunner though. |

I have the black dial version. There's no denying it, this is a heavy watch that takes some getting used to.
However, once your wrist has acclimatized, it's a joy to wear. |

not an issue to me at all, but definitely less comfortable than DD, dj, sub or BLNR, no question on that. But I feel the sd43 is even less comfortable.

The thickness is the only issue I have with it. It's just sooooo thick. Other than that it is a beauty

I've tried one on and it looked like a hockey puck on my 7" wrist. Just my reaction.

OP, here’s my opinion. I have the SD43 and that’s as large as I’d go with my 7.3” wrist. It’s definitely a chunk. Still getting used to mine after wearing Daytona’s/hulk/gmt for some years. Bottom line, if this is a 1 watch collection and you just plan to wear the DSSD forever, go for it. You’ll get used to it. If you have 40mm Rolex’s in your collection and you’ll be rotating I think you won’t love the DSSD enough to keep it, or vice versa. It’s just such a different watch. I’m warming up to my SD43 and plan to make it my daily. I feel like the hulk and gmt won’t get nearly as much attention later on and I might just sell one/both of them if I’ll need to. |

I wear mine daily. Not small, but wears terrific, especially the 126660 with the wider bracelet. For reference, I have a 7.5” wrist.

It’s a masculine watch, but not really that big. Super comfortable and a great daily wearer

If I may ask another question to this thread, how long did you guys have to wait for your dssd and/or sea dweller 43? I have my name down still at my AD for either the JC or black dial dssd as well as the SD43 as I missed out on a JC about a week ago because I was too caught up at work to respond promptly when I got the call. Been bashing myself since :(

I like a watch to fit partly under my cuffs. With my DSSD that does not work. Bought it for its extreme engineering and the domed sapphire.
Suppose depends on your attire

It’s a winner! Best in the Rolex lineup. I wear mine with shorts and t shirts, as well as dress shirts and jackets. Great watch.

Cant speak as to the new ones, but I had 2 of the old ones...and I am bigger than almost anyone listed on the thread here. Honestly it sucked as a daily. Way too top heavy. Maybe gen 2 fixed this, but not a good daily imho, sorry.
