Dull edges on new Datejust 36

Last week bought a brand new Datejust 36 from an AD in UK, probably one of the last few remaining pre-2019 models (116200-0059).
The watch is in 100% perfect condition (no marks, dings, etc.) Had all the stickers and even a bezel protector on.
However, the edges on the back of the case aren't as sharp as on my previous DJ.
Is this normal? Has anyone noticed the same?
Could it be a side effect of the watch being re-finished by Rolex?

Hard to "feel" from a picture.
Since you bought it brand new from an AD nothing to worry

My 116234 looks just like that. They don't have sharp edges like the sport models.

can't tell a thing from that picture but my month old 116234 has sharp edges on the bottom edges along the sides of the case as you have marked.

why are you concerned about re-finish if this was bought from AD brand new?

^^^Because sometimes re-finished watches are sold as brand new. Perhaps not Rolex, but this has happened with other brands.

I’ve also wondered - can there sometimes be very slight uneven finishes with a brand new Rolex? Or is it the case that all are perfect?

I just felt my Girlfriends brand new one and the tips felt sharp and the part closer to the crown was half as sharp.

There is no way AD could put the stickers back the same way they come from the factory. It's simply impossible, if OP had all the stickers on the watch I don't believe it was refinished after leaving factory.

Agree, AD can't put stickers back on a watch. But 2 of ADs in London told me that if a watch gets scratched in store, they'll send it back to Rolex. The watch will go back to the factory where it will be re-finished, then will be available to the ADs as new.
Not sure if this is true though.
