Another Rolex (1966)

What a day, I’ve spoke to a company in the UK who are doing some work on my 1970 dateless SS Sub and guess what...they have gone and lost it 😔.

On that bad note, Now onto some better 😊

So I have had this Rolex for a while now (I have hardly ever used it) as for me it’s too bling bling lol.

All I know is the model number (1005) and it was made in 1966. I’ve looked online and I can’t really find any like this, there are some solid 14ct ones but this (while solid 14ct) it has a brushed effect on it.

Could anyone share some light on this; I’ve attached some pictures:

I should also add, I’m going to get it serviced as I don’t think it’s ever had one, then the hard part, do I keep this one and had it down to my son when he is older or do I sell it and get another Rolex...hmmm

It looks like it may have a florentine finish. Can’t tell if it’s original or added later. The dial is unusual, it may be refinished - does it have ‘swiss’ under the 6 o clock marker?

Out of interest, which UK company lost your watch? Would be good to let other members know!
