Red Line Sea Dweller

Got a call from my AD asking if I want a Sea Dweller 50th anniversary. What do you guys here think? It was never on my mind. The AD is not budging on the price, and I will visit London next month, and I'm thinking I may find one at a cheaper price because of the falling pound and tax refund. Is there a chance this model may be discontinued as it's an anniversary model? do you think I would regret it if I pass on it? Is it readily available in other countries? Here the AD gets them easily but never displays them.

You have more chance of solving Brexit than you have of finding an SD43 at retail here.

SD43 SS are highly sort after here in UK. I got a SkyD SS Black in 2 weeks, yet still waiting for my SD43 since basel release and there are 6 people more in front of me.

If you can get a SD43 at retail from an AD, just buy it!

Don’t succumb to FOMO! If you’ve wanted it, then don’t wait! If you somehow get your hands on another one cheaper you can sell it easily and then it’s all the same.

Watchfinder&Co. is selling them for 11,950 pounds (incl. tax).

This watch is not for you! You dont want this watch, because as you said it, it was not in your mind. You are only thinking of future value and that’s the wrong mind set. Leave it to someone that really wants it and will enjoy it.

Gotta agree.
Leave it for someone who hopefully genuinely wants a SD on their wrist.

It wasn’t on my mind either, until I got the call. Now I wear it the most. I think it is perfect.

More chance of bumping into the Queen at Harvey Nic’s than getting an SD43 at RRP in London.

You don’t want the watch - move on

Was a bit unsure about it myself but when I received a call from an AD offering me one at RRP and got a look at it, I went for it. It definitely wears bigger than the earlier 40mm models, but sits quite nicely - great watch!

Leave it for someone that will hopefully enjoy it if you're not that interested.

OP it doesn't sound like it's a reference you want. Tune out the noise and go check it out if you really want to get a feel for it, but unless you're totally convinced don't buy it.

I have a question for people from UK. Do you think it's easy to find a TT Daytona in the UK. What is the RRP, and can I expect a discount? Does RRP include VAT in the UK?

RRP is £13,000, availability is easier than a steel model. But given the RRP is less than the premium paid for steel you are extremely unlikely to get one with a discount. There is no need for an AD to discount them to sell them.
