Sd4k or 126660 James Cameron d blue

I currently own a 114060 and I love it. But I came across the sd4k. I love the fact that it wasn’t produced as long but I know what they say “buy what you like but I can’t help myself knowing it has such a short production run. I’m leaning towards the d blue james Cameron because that piece is just stunning.

Just wondering if you guys can give me your opinion on these watches if you own them and which would you choose if you could all over again.

I'd get the 126660 D-blue. My line of thought is if you're only interested in something because of scarcity then you're not really that interested in it.

Both outstanding! Own one (sd4k) and have had both blue and black DSSD. No wrong choice as far as just for pure enjoyment of having a great watch to wear. As far as collectibility, which I really don’t take into account when making a watch purchase, I’d say the sd4k is a future collectible “no brainer” as they say.
All that aside...they both are fantastic, and the blue/black gradient dial on the DSSD is gorgeous. For me it was just a matter of keeping the sd4k in rotation due to the size. I can “get away” with wearing the DSSD, but it’s just a bit too big on my wrist, in my minds eye, for me personally. My wrist is 6.75.
Like I said, no wrong choice as both are great!

My choice would be the sd4k. I owned the D-BLUE but it was just too big and top heavy for my wrist.

Get the SD4k unless you have wrists 7.5in or bigger.

Tough call. Are you keeping the 114060? If trading, I'd go SD4K now and add DSSD later. If keeping the Sub, DSSD all the way.

I have both. I have owned my black face Deep Sea for about twelve years and purchased the SD4K when dealers were trying to give them away. I like both equally but the Deep Sea is definitely a “statement” piece” and my 7” wrist is (to me) is just about the minimum size for the watch. The SD4K is more proportional. I don’t buy for investment and have zero interest in selling my SD4K; I wear it and I don’t worry about it. Buy what you will wear and enjoy.

That dial on the JC is special, if you find it comfortable on the wrist, that's the one IMO. Honestly though, both are great pieces you can't go wrong with. Pick the one that you'll enjoy wearing most!

I’ve owned both...both great choices. The SD4k is still here. The Cameron was to tall for me. My wrist is 7.5 inches. It’s personal choice. Make sure you try the Cameron on first.

I had the SD4K and flipped it for a good price. Got me a SD43 similar weight and more substantial. I never had a DeepSea but I think that my SD43 is tall in the wrist enough. I like the JC and think is a beautiful watch full if history but the I think the size of the SD4000 and the SD43 are the biggest I could wear comfortably. The SD43 is my daily beater now and no problem and the SD4K was also very comfortable in my wrist.

Thanks for all the input guys! I still have to try on the d blue first. I don’t think I’ll have a problem with it with my 7 3/4 wrist! Can’t wait to get one soon!

I own both (except deep sea has the black dial). The deep sea can be a daily in my experience. But the SDc has classic proportions and is more understated. The deep sea feels more “special” to me. I’d go deep sea if you can handle the thickness. Your wrist will handle the diameter no problem.

For a daily wearer I’d go SD4K, as a piece to rotate I’d go DBlue

I have a question for a diver. I’m an aviator, never dived.

The two dive models being discussed have vastly different dive depth capabilities.

How deep can an experienced diver descend to while following the proper dive protocols? In rough terms?

Not a watch capability question rather a diver capability issue.

Unless you are getting rid of your Sub, go DSSD. Variety...

SD4K is too close to a Sub to have both IMO

Even though it’s only a 1mm difference, the original dssd bracelet is more comfortable, especially if you have a bigger wrist (7 7/8 here). The gradient on the dial is also more 50/50. The gen2 seems to fade to black lower on the dial. I’d go for a gen1 dblue.
