DD Date and Day Change Problem

Hi everyone this is my first post. I bought a Day Date 18038 single quickset and I noticed that at around 8:44 pm the date disappears from the window and the day starts changing and goes only halfway. A few minutes after midnight both click into place. Is this normal? The jeweler I bought it from says that this is how they are supposed to work. I can still return the watch but I was wondering if I should tell them to fix it since they are willing to do that.

My 18038 waits until about 14 seconds after midnight and both change instantly. I would not be pleased with what you are describing.

Something is wrong.

Looks like you need to make a little trip into the city ... 5th Avenue RSC

It is not supposed to work like that. Worse than needing servicing, it may be a fake. I hate to throw that out there not having any real information, but I wouldn't trust them to fix something they say is supposed to work like you're describing. I'd get a 2nd opinion not affiliated with your jeweler.

I would send it to Dallas RSC. Never been a fan of Manhattan location. It’s as if the watch magically has new scratches by them just handling it.

I’ve seen something similar on one of my 18038s. However, when I let it run down and waited a few days, then reset the day and date by hand, the problem “fixed itself.” I’m not saying it doesn’t need service, but I wouldn’t worry that it is necessarily an indication of a fake.
