Looks like a well loved watch and even the bracelet looks worn out. Something looks a bit off about it, did he got it from AD?

The number 4 in the bezel to be more flat on top. I'll post a picture but I have lost the ability to do so lately don't know why. Here is a link to a website that has one for sale

It's not the top of the four that needs to be flat, it's the inside of the top of the four (where it is pointed in the OP) that needs to be flat. (maybe that's what you meant but I didn't click the link)
