Can you show a photo? I'm tempted to guess "BacK Acier inOxydable" (back stainless steel).

A photo of the what I assume is a hallmark marking and not of the watch. Generally speaking BK is not used by Rolex for black; that usually is NR from the French noire.

My guess is:

BK = black dial
AO = arabic numerals

Looking up "Rolex BKAO" brings up Airking information but also shows some DJ models with this reference code and they are black dial with arabic numerals.

It's French for " completely random fonts, colors and numbers"

LOL. Reminds me of the John Lennon quote when he said that Avant Garde was French for bullshit.

I believe the question is about the watches model ID, 116900BKAO.

I did some research this afternoon looking for a definitive answer to no avail.

What I did find however was many Rolex reference numbers with the letters BKAO following them.

What they all had in common was a black dial and Arabic Numbers or Numerals.

So, I have to agree with others and conclude that the term means Black Dial, Arabic Ordinals.

Ordinal Numbers
