Spoof Email - BEWARE - posing as DavidSW
All,
BEWARE - I received the below Email from someone posing as DavidSW, but his Email address trickily was [email protected] (notice "vv" in place of "w"). I have notified DavidSW about this, but wanted to make sure everyone else is warned. Here is the Email, so be careful if you get anything from someone posing to be DavidSW. "Hey Mark hope all is well. I ran into some awesome deals on a few watches and was wondering if you would be interested at all. I have a Stainless steel Daytona 116520 black face V serial in mint condition for only $10,500. It's a great price on a great watch, I'm helping my brother in law find a buyer for them as he's wanting to unload a few of his pieces. It has a complete set of box and papers and includes extra links. I would buy it myself but I'm trying to sell the two I have right now. Also selling for him is a AP Volcano like new and complete for $15,000 and a Rolex Submariner 116610LN like new and complete for $6,500 If your interested let me know. I'm emailing a few friends and past customers of mine to see if there interested before listing these watches. Regards, DavidSW www.davidsw.com/ 407-588-8861" Notice the phone number is wrong also. Beware. Makes me wonder how this phony got my Email address and knew my name. TRF, any hacks? |

Thanks for the heads up but rofl. Anyone that knows david and his business knows he doesn’t need to make personal calls to move a few Rolex for family at half the market rate lol

I get two or three of these standard template emails a month, with a different spoof seller
Scammers are getting really lazy

I received a very similarly worded e-mail, near same watches for sale at way too good of a price, but posed as Jacek from HQ Milton.
Same BS brother in-law story and same close but not quite the same e-mail address as the real deal. Be careful out there folks. |

I got the same email this past week but from Brian aka Briboxer. Seems like the scammers must have a template floating around out there and just copy and paste. Be careful everyone. Check and double check and do everything you can to verify you are indeed talking to the real deal. |

So many times - if it's too good to be true- it's a scam. The DavidSW thing is totally absurd but then again, I never could see how people fell into the Nigerian 411 thing either.
