Stay steel or go PM

Hi all, looking for opinions.

I have a steel white daytona ceramic and the new steel pepsi in my collection right now. Thinkin about going PM, been loving the rosegold oysterflex daytona for sometimes especially the choco dial but hates how the arabic index is so hard to see. Now that rolex change the choco into stick index plus black subdial, that ticks all my box. But I’m not splurging any more funds for watches, so either stay steel with those two I hve right now, or trade it for the PM daytona plus some cash.

I never have a PM piece before. Sub, hulk, SD43 before. I love the daytona case size, always feel the maxi case on GMT and sub is too big. Plus, I have the tudor BB58 for my daily beater. What do you think? Thanks before for the opinion guys.

Oh another thing to consider, I got both my steel for retail. So, I’ll be making lots of premiums if I’m selling it. My consideration since I think the steel bubble is somewhat maximize already.

It is never a bad idea to take profits when they are available. Take some money off the table and invest it in a PM and enjoy!

You have two of the best SS rolex watches. Trading both of them for an OF daytona is going to be a decision you will regret

I would not trade in the ones you have to be honest. I have the white DaytonaC and SS pepsi and also have the WG OF Daytona. I love the oysterflex Daytona and it’s one of my favorite watches to be honest. But I don’t know if I would love it at the expense of both an SS Daytona and Pepsi as those are both such classic, versatile pieces.

That’s a tough one...if your ok with the Tudor as your go to, vs having 3 great go to’s....I’d say go for it! Although if it were me... I’d wear the PM Daytona a whole lot, and have 2 great go to watches! PM is awesome, but a slippery slope :)

I'd take advantage of the resale on the SS Daytona and then go for the PM Daytona.

Yeah, that piece is amazing. But might be a pain to get one. Either that one or the WG OF with steel dial, though I’m leaning towards the RG more.

The daytona oysterflex is starting to get premium price, maybe because the steel pricing is too near?

I like the pepsi, the comfort of the jubilee especially. But out my 3 watches, if any have to go it will be the pepsi. Daytona and tudor have the perfect case size for me.

For you, if you have to choose between the white daytonaC and the WG OF? Which one?

I’m very ok with the Tudor. I used to wear the daytona as daily beater, but now I think the Tudor is more suitable for me (work environment factor too).

Slipper slope meaning the price? Isn’t it started to get premium? Seeing most selling above retail. Preowned pieces also have very good price nowadays for the OF.

Have been considering the bracelet version. Pricing is even better as every model is selling below retail (especially the Yg money daytona). But the lacks of ceramic bezel draws me away, I personally think the Daytona is best with the ceramic bezel. I would choose the DD40 president over bracelet daytona if I’m going full gold.

Plus, as I’m more towards RG, I’m not that kinda guy who loves to look fancy wearing full gold watches (no offense) so no full gold piece atm. If I’m picking full gold, would be WG.

Ah i see. Yeah, so the thoughts came when I flashback to the time when my brother have the daytona WG panda arabic on strap, so i was thinking that I have two steel Rolex that almost worth the PM in the market. Then i saw the new daytona dial, and boom..dilemma comes, can’t get it out my head until now.

However much I live PM, I would have a good long hard think about it. If it was full gold then possibly. Hard one to make, and my advice is to take your time and be sure.

I guess to each his own. Me, i prefer the gold metal bezel to the ceramic.

I let go of a few Stainless pieces and moved into PM. Haven't looked back.
