Does anyone ever “update” their older bezels to ceramic?
I know there are camps of people that want all original everything even if partially worn or damaged. I’m not that person. I polish my watches when they go for servicing etc.
That being said my 95 sub has a nicked bezel and insert. RSC recommends to replace but I’m going to some rough areas for the next year so I plan a full service when I get back. Is it completely sacrilege to get them (will they even do it?) to use the ceramic bezel instead of steel? I plan to keep the watch but if I went to sell it how much of a deal breaker would that be for people considering the watch would already be polished, a new bezel, a new mismatched bracelet, etc? |

They are not gonna put a ceramic bezel on a 95 sub. And it wont fit anyway.

Ah ok. I’m new to Rolex, so I thought I’d ask. I love the aluminum, didn’t know if it was worth changing out of it fit for durability purposes. But I guess the aluminum insert was pretty cheap. 30 bucks maybe

How long have you had the sub? When you purchased it was the bezel already beat up? Or was it you that beat it up? Understand that scratches will happen. But the best advice is just to be more “wrist aware.” Watch out for doorways, desks, seatbelts, girlfriends/wife with bracelets, etc etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Welcome to the Forum. The references that have aluminum inserts do not coincide with the more modern references that include the ceramic bezels inserts. Therefore “updating” them is not possible.

You can still update by trading for the new ones. If you can find em.

You could try a green service insert to mix it up
