Is it too big for me?

Personally, I have never cared what others think about a watch and how it fits, as long as i like it.
However, please humor me and let me know which of these watches fits me better.

Both look like the same watch to me. But in any case, to my eye, it looks too big. But that shouldn't matter to you, if you like it, that's all that matters.

Dont know if it is the angle but the bottom pic, the watch looks bigger.

You are in the ballpark of the purpose for the exercise.

Not always a fan of Breitling's styling, but that's a handsome piece.
I can see why it's caught your eye.
Does look a little big, but the photo is so close up, it's hard to accurately see the scale.

Goes to show how the perspective of the photo changes the appearance on the wrist. For my taste, based on the first photo which more accurately represents how it fits, it is at the upper limit of normal for fit, looking good.

I fell for this with the AP 15450. Looks great in a close-up photo like your second, but once I put it on the dial looked too small to my eye.

Beautiful watch but to my eye it’s too big for your wrist. Obviously you can buy and wear what you want but you asked. :)

Lots of amazing watches out there that would fit you better.

Looks the same to me. Zoom out a bit to give us a better scale of size relative to wrist.

That's a great looking watch, and I appreciate the perspectives. The height of a watch will also alter these perspectives. Yours looks like, despite its diameter and lug spread, it might still have a good shot at getting under a shirt cuff. A taller watch with the same diameter and lug spread would look too big to me.

Did I mention that's a great looking watch?

Lots of great responses right in the ballpark.

This is an exercise to show photo perspective and how it can erroneously influence us.
I tried this on a Breitling group and told them one was a 44 and one was a 47. They fell for it and told me 44 looked better.

So, every time someone comes here with a wrist shot and is told it’s just right, it may actually look like a quarter on their wrist. Likewise, when told too big, may fit right.

For me personally, I can push a 44 and “rock it”.
Specially since the culture of modern Breitling is about “big”.
It’s a matter of what makes one feel good, not what others think based on a deceptive photo, not truly representative of reality.

I don't think wrist shot really work for judging this stuff. The perspective is off.

Look in the mirror from 3 feet away. If it overpowers your wrist then it's oversized, then you decide if that works for you.

My guess is your first picture was taken from farther back and cropped and the second one is a close-up.

It's all about perspective.

Correct on all fronts.
That’s exactly how the more correct perspective photo was taken, then cropped.

I'm a small watch guy, I think a lot of people here wear watches that are too big, even though everyone says they're not. Yes this is too big IMO.

Phone shots from half a foot away always make a watch look big, you really can't judge from so close.

Convincing people that one is 44 and one is 47 proves the point nicely.

Questions for those that said too big.

First, did you digest that the post is intended to show how wrist shots can be deceiving and how you fell victim to it? In fact, neither of those photos are truly accurate at all. Watches will always look bigger when taking a self wrist shot.

Second, does horology weigh in at all? Does it matter that historically, Breitling has always been a different look than Rolex, intended to wear big?
Sort of like saying an AP ROO should wear small or a Movado Museum looks too thin. Not meant to be.
