What is the Oldest Rolex on the Forum?

I know there are plenty of new Rolex's on the forum, but how about the oldest? I recently saw some guys with real "vintage" watches. Let's see them?

I'll post a pic of my 36 year old DJ that is excellent condition - partially thanks to Michael Young. It is overdue for a service but looking good ...

I seem to remember a pocket watch a few years back. It actually was someone's grandfather's. Possibly the only legitimate grandfather's Rolex account.

This should be an interesting thread, there are a lot of members with gorgeous vintage pieces. Alas, I do not but I wanted to ask: Is the entire case of your DJ brushed steel? I know there were several years running when they didn't feature a 'mirror finish' or highly polished case.

Just to add: Your reference is in very good shape. Must have been well treated.

My dad got this during the Korean War around 1950 when he served in the US Army and I just got it serviced 60 plus years later.

Runs and looks brand new.

Dang that is a very nice looking piece. Love the bracelet and the missing end link look.

I could play the Omega and Seiko game...but only to the 60s.

Those vintage Rolex examples above are really cool. Nice one.

What is the Oldest Rolex on the Forum?

My dad picked this up recently. 73 years young. We haven’t run the serial yet, it’s definitely not the oldest but a great vintage example nonetheless.

Not the OP - but I have similar DJ from mid 90's - the top of the lugs are brushed but the side of case is polished. I assume the same with the OP's DJ.

The sides on my DJ are polished - only the upward facing portion is brushed. It is the last of the 14k gold TT's.

My OP Date 1503 is from about 1970-1971.

The bracelet didn't come with it, but I was proud to pick it up, anyway.

Dang. You gotta respect that simple yet beautiful dial.

Is that a 34mm watch?
