How good is the 116655?

Considering making some moves in my collection and have my eye on this one as my first PM piece, prices still seem fair in this (insane!) market

What I like is that it's PM but not in your face like a full bracelet model, pretty stealthy IMO

Anyone have one and regret the move? I love rubber straps so should not have an issue with the OF

I would still have a steel Rolex in rotation

Any comments or feedback on this piece are appreciated!

I had one for a while. I liked it. Managed to be discreet and under the radar for RG. The bezel is very stunning too, just loved the overall depth the piece had. I just wish the clasp had the Easylink (note, the 126655 has a Glidelock now).

In the end, I sold it and bought a 116519LN but that was just my personal preference.

I like the model just not in RG with a black bezel.

The only reference (Yacht master) that I’ve never had on my wrist. But every time I see pics of this one, it gets me thinking.
Looks beautiful in pics, never have seen in the flesh.

I bought one for my wife for our 20th and she absolutely loves it. She said its the most comfortable of all her watches. I got her the 40mm hoping I'd get to borrow it. No such luck.

I just got my few days ago. In a certain light looks like white gold and oysterflex is comfy too. You will love it!

I've noticed this as well. Sometimes it looks like a polished whitish color, and other times it looks very red. Apparently Rolex adds platinum to their RG alloy so maybe that's the reason.

I love it...holding out for the 126655, though.

I like it, but I wouldn't spend that amount of money on it. For my first PM I wanted all gold, including bracelet (went with a DD40 rose gold).

I know it's personal opinion, but I just don't think that tiny amount of gold warrants the purchase...which I know that sounds crazy when people dropping 26k for SS daytonas.

It's also not that under the radar, honestly. If you want under the radar, go with WG, but if you want RG / YG, go all in!

I owned one for about 1 year. Then after 1 year I decided to get my wife the 37mm matching version. I thoroughly enjoy this piece.

This one has always been offered with discount. Even begin of this year when all prices went crazy. I think it is a bit overpriced or the demand for this watch isn't high. But if you like it just go for it I think it is a good looking watch.

Have one and love it. A stunner in the metal and yet stealth enough in the flesh.

Had one. wears a bit small. Its why im thrilled they went to 42mm with the WG version.

You would be surprised about how no end links on a 40mm watch makes it wear. Im a big YM fan though

strap PM watches are priced just right in context. less than full PM and more than SS and TT. Not sure where the price should be if you agree the others are correct.

Weirdly enough it comes up almost always when the watch in question is on rubber, when its leather not so much

I like them. I’m contemplating it in WG.

Just got my wife the RG 37mm. Wasn’t overly impressed when buying it. But now that she’s wearing it I’ve really come live it. It is beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice.

You won’t regret buying one

I love mine - probably my favorite watch right now. Way less subtle to an all gold which I find a little harder to pull day to day. I went into the store with the white Daytona and came out with the 116655 (no I didn’t sell or trade it). Hard to believe they are going for about the same price.

Cant go wrong at all.

This particular watch is on my short-list of potential first Rolex PM purchase for me. The matte black dial with the contrasting rose-gold rimmed hour markers really is a treat to see in person (if you appreciate that kind of pop).

It seems like they really haven't rolled out the 126655's much yet. I've been to two separate local AD's in the past few months. Both had told me they had just got one of these in the most recent shipment and both were the previous reference. A quick search on Chrono24 also suggests there aren't really any of these floating around for sale online right now (the 2019 reference).

I think what's been tripping me up is the MSRP on this watch vs. a PM Daytona on OF. At MSRP, you can get a YG or RG/WG Daytona on OF for $1,300 or $2,600 more, respectively. When I think about it that way, I take pause and ask myself "do I really want this YM" given the other Rolex PM options in that price neighborhood.

It's one of my favorites and screams class/not in your face "Hey, look at my rolex!" It seems more of a watch for the wearer instead of an attention grabber...unless the right person knows what it is.

I agree with this at retail. But it seems the 116655 can be had for 20-22k and the WG oysterflex Daytona is going more in the 30-32k range. So it’s probably worth a couple thousand more but I don’t think 10k more.

Love this watch, but couldn't get the perfect fit (no EZlink). The newest version comes with a glidelock, I'd go for that one!

One of my favorites for it's low key look. I absolutely love mine, and recommend to anybody looking for a RG watch that is under the radar which is exactly what I wanted.
