Day date 2 ref: 218235

Hi ! I’m about to pull the trigger on a day date 2 (218235) priced 29.200$
After some haggeling I managed to get the price down to 27.000$

Ref: 218235

It’s a original day date 2 with box and certificate.

Mint condition, from a second hand watch dealer.

This will be my first Rolex.. so I really can’t tell if it is fake or not, but I know it sure feels real and looks really good. Was hoping for some help trying to spot if it’s real or not.

Why would you buy something that expensive from someone you do not trust OP?

Buy the watch. It’s a slow Wednesday and we need the drama.

First Rolex at $ 27,000 that you "sure feels good" ? I suggest you slow down .

It looks good to me but I think its missing 1 link. With saying that you need to get close ups of the hallmarks on the back of the case. There's 4 of them there and the counterfeits are not good at creating crisp designs. Also a close up of the marking on the inside of the clasp, same reasoning.

It says it has the original paperwork which should be a numbers matching warranty card, again pictures. I would make sure there isnt any red flags on the serial number as in known fake.

There's a saying here of Buy the seller which holds a lot of weight. If your getting this from a high volume trusted seller here or a brick and mortar location its most likely legit. But as always buyer beware and I am like you and very untrusting in nature.

FYI, The Day Date II was only in production from 2008-2014. It may have had a later date for the filled in warranty.

That vas very helpful ! Thanks man. I just contacted the seller and he confirmed that it has 1 more link. What will the hallmarks on the clasp look like?

Still think it’s weird that he said its a 2015. If the production stoped in 2014.

Have you heard about 2015s ( 218235) before ?

I think you should have a look at the pictures of one of the watches for sale at Briljantwatches, which is a second hand dealer in Norway. Looks like the same watch and pictures?

Hei. Det stemmer! prøvde bare å holde det hemmelig hvor den var fra, så ingen går meg i forkjøpet. Skal se på den å muligens kjøpe den imorgen.

The warranty gets filled out when its sold so it could be quite a few years after the fact. PM watches dont move as fast as the Stainless models due to cost. What matters more is when the AD activated the warranty. But we have no way to know if/when that was actually done. But for this watch its probably not a player since there all about 5 years old at least by now.

The Hallmarks are known and when viewing a real one there very crisp. Members here also own the same type of watch your thinking of getting and can confirm if they look legit or not.

Fakes are not good at doing this yet. Also if it has the original warranty that kinda gives you the fuzzy feeling it isnt fake or isnt stolen when it comes as a full set which is how I like to purchase them.

Wow, good catch. Same pictures 100%.

So OP, call over to Brilijantwatches and ask them if its still for sale. Then circle back to your seller.

Met him yesterday ! It’s real and the seller is good to go !

Didn’t get it do.. it looked way to feminine on me with the rose gold.

So I’m now hunting a yellow gold one/ black dial.

The 218235 with the black wave dial and arabic numbers is what I am after. But I have to wait a few months till Im back home before I can act. I also want to see a 218235 with the bronze wave dial in person myself because I like both of them but I am afraid the bronze with gold hands would be hard to read and in some pictures the rose gold looks like copper which I dont prefer normally.
