FS: Grand Seiko SBGJ203 Hi-beat GMT
Up for sale today is a Grand Seiko hi-beat GMT, reference SBGJ203. This watch comes as a complete and full set, with shipping included in my asking price.
Fans of the Grand Seiko brand need little introduction to this reference. Besides the Zaratsu polished case, hands, and hour markers, the most defining feature of this reference is the beautiful Mt. Iwate dial. It’s like a sunburst finish, but more intricate and somehow more natural. Photos don’t do it justice, but I’ve given it my best shot. Please excuse dust and smudges in my macro photos - I’ve tried to highlight the dial work and quality of the case, but I’m not a photographer by trade! Happy to take additional photos per your request. This is a true GMT movement with an independently adjustable hour hand, just like the much more costly Rolex and Omega GMT offerings. The watch is running well, easily within COSC specs. The hi-beat movement is beautifully finished and known for its durability and accuracy compared to similar high frequency movements made by Swiss brands. Condition: this watch shows signs of light wear. It was worn by me in a rotation for about a year. There are some small hairline scratches here and there, and a more noticeable nick on the left side of the case band which pre-dates my ownership of the watch. In my opinion these small imperfections do nothing to corrupt the nature of the Zaratsu polishing, which is truly stunning. I have never worn the bracelet and would rate that as near mint condition. The red Hodinkee strap shown in photos is a soft goat skin and included in the sale. It has been worn sparingly and has a lot of life left in it. This watch has a 19mm lug width but I’ve found that some 20mm straps can be squeezed in. Shipping: I’ll ship fully insured via USPS Priority Mail. If you have another preference, please let me know and we can discuss, I’m pretty flexible. I’m also more than happy to meet face to face virtually anywhere in New England. Trades: I’m more interested in a straight sale for this piece, but I’m open to offers if you have interesting and similarly valued modern watches. Feel free to let me know what you’ve got. Price: $3950 OBRO via Paypal F&F or wire or G&S + 3% w/ references Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
