No Rolex in Stock - What else are you shopping?

I love my Explorer but travel a lot and would like a second time zone. Dealers don't have GMT's. I can wait a few years, buy for way over MSRP, or get something else.

I bought a Grand Seiko quartz GMT after looking at a lot of watches. GS quartz is well done and tuned to +- 5 sec a year. It takes a lot to pull this off so it's interesting tech and high workmanship, also a lot less cost. Maybe it's safer to wear in some of the places I go. It does the job although anything other than my Explorer is a let down.

Maybe someday I'll buy a GMT, maybe not. What's everyone else doing? Is Rolex losing you?

Omega, Seiko, Chopard and Panerai, many thanks to Rolex for helping us diversify our collections.

I waited about five weeks and scooped up an Explorer II. But I was a week away from a Tudor GMT

I wouldn’t say Rolex is losing me, but I’ve certainly been exploring other brands. In the past year, I picked up an IWC Mark XVIII and blue Cartier Santos.

Got a new Omega Seamaster instead of waiting/paying over for a Submariner.
Happy with the decision so far.

Grand Seiko has had my attention for something a bit dressier, maybe even quartz.

My AD and friend who is also a WIS and collector himself came up with this last week. A 16710 that they sold new in 2004. Yes, its mine now.

Grand seiko. Contemplating a PAM 422. But strongly considering moving into PM.

Nothing watch wise. Maybe the omega seamaster 42 ceramic white dial black bezel when it drops in November

Just because Rolex has some shortages doesn't mean you have to go elsewhere. Here are this years pickups:

Definately a good time to grab a Panerai. I think the market will eventually turn up for the brand too.
