Why wouldn't they give you the tag?

The white hang tag? I've gotten the red, and now green seals and maybe a green hang tag?

I don't remember receiving a white one in the last 4-5 years.

Then again, I never cared enough to ask for it.

It is mixed in the UK, many dealers are starting to withhold it for a year with the papers, some are not giving it at all stating that it is not part of the retail package and is required for inventory checking.
Can't get the transport coffin anymore either in most cases.

I was under the impression that this was always the case.

Get the green, not the white.

Some do and some don’t. Lots of “what is a full set?” threads you can review where people debate this.

Frustration here . . . I purchased an Air King from an AD in Feb. had it shipped to me as I was out of town, and it arrived sans green hang tag. I contacted my new best friend (AD’s sales rep) who promised me he’d send out two. Never received them. Five months later I contacted the shop and went through the exercise of texting with another rep again to no avail. Both times promises of the sky raining hang tags on me. Seven months later I’m still without. What gives? Isn’t it part of the kit?

I know it's part of a "full set", but I wouldn't waste time being frustrated about it.

Maybe stop by the AD and speak to them in person if it's bothering you that much.

It's really meaningless.

All these "rules" greatly vary from dealer to dealer. My Batman from one dealer came with everything including a Rolex hat and golf balls. My Sub came from another dealer a month earlier from a different dealer and he would not give me the outer sleeve to the Rolex box.... so weird....

Got it. Realistically I may sell the watch at some point or give it as a gift to one of my sons. It’s always nice to have the full set.

Considering I’ve tried twice since Feb it isn’t high on my list. They are across the US on the East Coast so I won’t be popping in unfortunately. I do find it interesting as to why it wouldn’t be in the set, and as to why I get the lip service without action. Based on this thread it sounds like many ADs have their own ways of trying to ensure watches don’t end up in the gray market.

Or, I could be like my mother-in-law who threw away her original box and paperwork like it’s just another package from Amazon to put in recycle

How else would you quickly know the serial number if not for the tag?

One of my watches came without the white tag, bezel protector, and white sleeve over the outer box. Which is weird because my SA intentionally remove all of those pieces. When I asked she said sorry, I know it’s silly but it’s new Rolex policy. Which is BS but it didn’t bother me enough to argue about it.

here we go again.

card, booklets, box, green hang tag = full set. I suppose you could count the watch too if that matters

shipping accessories, bezel protectors, coffins, reciepts, paper tags, shipping manifests the AD gets, stamps on the UPS box, tracking numbers for the original shipment, bubble wrap is weird stuff that people constantly want more and more of.

full set = all end customer intended accessories. A paper tag is more for the AD

This is great but one question abounds.....Does the OP get the white hang tag? For some no white tag=End of the world as we know it

you have got to draw the line somewhere and i squarely put it at intended accessories.

The other stuff, sure i guess its in the nice to have category but we cant keep moving the bar on what a full set is.

I usually get it, but i dont consider it part of a full set. i dont count the other stuff either, which i generally throw in the trash if its in the box

These threads always remind me of this video.

https://youtu.be/li0mRLcGbU8

The box and papers added $20-25K to the collector value. I say get the full kit as often as allowable. It might matter in 20-30 years.
