580 endlinks

Are there different versions of 580 endlinks? I just picked up a pair and they look drastically different from the 580's that came with my 1016.

Yes, there are original, service and fake!

Original have flat 8s, service links have rounder 8s and fakes tend to have rounded 8s with the "580" pushed all the way into the corners. post pics of what you have...

Not even the numbers, but the actual shape of the endlink.

I'll let others chime in, but the shape of the one on the right

looks more correct to me -- cant make out the number. left looks off, angles too sharp

Has the left one been modified? Looks almost like someone cut off part of it when compared to the one on the right...

No it hasn’t. Which is why I’m surprised. The left one fits the case flush and perfect but the right one is a terribly poor fit.

Very strange, I've never seen any 580s with a sharp corner like that. All the ones I've seen including on my own Sub have the rounded shape to it.

Any chance the new ones need to be bent/adjusted? Do you have any photos of them fitted to your watch?

Yes the 580s are original Rolex service replacement end links. You can always tell the service end links by the smaller 580 stamping when compared to the larger stamping on the originals.
