White gold Daytona Oysterflex + Pepsi/ steel daytona

Getting people’s views on this.

I am about to potentially spend for me a HUGE sum of money to finish my collection.

I have a Sub and BLNR to date.

A Daytona is my grail and would do me, but I have little to no chance of getting a SS one.

So I have decided to go PM to finish the collection.

I can’t see any discount on this model and it seems to make sense to try and do a bundle.

Firstly do you think a AD would do it with either a Pepsi or a SS Daytona (I’m one of the few who actually prefers black). Or is that being too optimistic and which do people think will round the collection of better.

Thanks

Probably not. Maybe if it were a solid gold Daytona sitting the case you might be able to get a BLRO or BLNR bundle at a smaller dealer....maybe.

Almost all Daytona’s seem to be hot commodities right now. And the one you’re after is probably the hottest of the PM models after the yellow gold with green dial.

Pretty sure your AD is not going to bundle a hot SS watch with your WG OF Daytona. A year ago, the OF Daytonas were just sitting in the cases. They are hot now.

Update and let us know what you do and how you get on as I am in a similar situation looking to get wg Daytona and looking to bundle it with something not sure what yet.

In UK the WG OF is in demand so no bundling with a popular SS will work, may have to take a DJ just to get the OF.

I haven't tried this personally so can't speak with certainty. Given how popular the WG OF Daytona is, I have a hard time seeing them bundle it with a hot SS piece. Bottom line - you're not doing them a "favor" by buying that particular model. That being said, it should definitely help your odds on picking a SS piece up down the road by spending that kind of cash with the same AD.

I can’t even get my hands on a yellow gold OF Daytona. I’ve waited for a 116518 longer than I waited for either of my BLRO or white 116500

Very unlikely to bundle two very in demand watches. It can't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Thanks for the advice I have a pretty good relationship with one AD, they did my BLNR and Sub for me (BLNR was a bit before the craze).

I’ll certainly ask the question but it looks like I might be lucky just to get the WG OF.

What a crazy Rolex world, who thought spending 30K on watches would be hard!

I will up-date

The AD that offered me a bundled Daytona 500c said the PM piece had to be full PM, not OF, but maybe another AD would do that deal.

I would hold out for exactly what you love and not settle for a piece that is easier to get (even if it is PM)

If you're willing to do that purchase go to the AD and let him know. Since asking prices on the secondary market for 116519 are above retail, maybe more likely to get the pepsi wth a day date or PM Skydweller. But then you don't want the DD or SD. my .02.

I think you have your answer, OP. This probably will not happen. I tried this bundle (WG OF, LVc) in a big metro market earlier this year with no history, and was told:

1. Full deposit and 4-6 month wait on daytona
2. “We will see” on LVc

I Declined
