Rolex Box Warranty ?

Opening my medium size box the other day I heard a little crack inside and suddenly the lid does not have the same resistance to open and close as before. It feels as if something broke inside. Are these boxes under the five year warranty also ? I bought that watch in October 2017.

I believe it has the same warranty as the hang tag or bezel protector... none.

No the box is not under warranty. Some customers don’t care about boxes and leave them at the AD. You can ask yours if they have extra.

Pretty sure the stickers are the only ones that have a 5-year warranty.

Your AD will probably just swap it out with a different one if you ask. They have a bunch of them in the back.

Occasionally the lids on these latest type of boxes can stick together with the base a little under some climatic conditions.
It's possible that is the cracking sound you heard of the bond being broken

Plastic junk probably made by children in some forsaken sweat shop. Just use it as is.

Agree, probably the same factory that iPhones are made in.

Of course it has warranty. Just go to your AD and explain your situation.

Your dealer literally has a stack of boxes they are tripping over in the back. You don’t even have to bring the broken one in, they will just give you another one.

Shittiest boxes in the business (relative to the cost of the watches). Anyway, bring it back the AD and see if they'll swap it out for you. Otherwise, not much you can do.

Will RSC honor the box warranty even if I'm not the original owner.

I wouldn't wear the box until you get it serviced. Call RSC for an estimate. Let us know how it goes.

Hinges are wear items and should be replaced during a regular service. But I would specify "no polish". You definitely want to retain that gorgeous patina on the factory cardboard.

I would return it for a full refund, but wait, I didn't pay anything for it so my refund will be $0 :(

If you do decide to have your box serviced, then as a helpful person above stated, you should specify no polish. Also make sure you get the correct Rolex service pouch and warranty card.

Only to Dallas. NYC will confiscate any non-Rolex stickers, etc.

SPECIFY "DO NOT POLISH".

Thats silly saying get a pouch, it will of course be returned in a new white cardboard outer box

I wouldn't except anything less from RSC.

Best thread in ages.

Just buy a replica off E Bay or China. No need to sweat it. My 12 year old box looks like someone stepped on it. No big deal

I would wait to replace the box until the new 3255 Rolex watch hinges are introduced! No sense getting a 31xx hinged box replacement.

Seriously though, I am sure your AD would be happy to help you out!
