New Sub c Hulk lume pearl issue

Hello
This is my first thread on trf. I really enjoy this forum and it’s so informative.
I just purchased a new Hulk after much wait last month.
And I just noticed a dot on the pearl it’s only visible from certain angels.
It this normal or do I have a defect?
Thank you very much

If you think its a defect, it probably is. I would take it back to the AD and they can and send it back to RSC for a replacement.

The bezel pip on my Tudor Black Bay Bronze cracked and fell out, I took it to my AD and they replaced it under warranty.

I’m confused as to what you are taking about chief

I didn’t understand

Now I see what you mean - after I blew the photos up to 10 times

But you can’t see it directly on?

The so called pearl is just a blob of luminous paint covered by a sapphire dome crystal perhaps its just a simple air bubble in the blob of lume paint, and would not call it a problem defect. But Rolex has developed a special tool, so now the so called pearl can be replaced if needed, instead of the very costly whole ceramic insert.

I had this similar thing on my hulk, looks like a little chip from the inside... it can only be seen on a certain angle... I brought it to RSC and they said it’s a defect. So they just asked for my warranty card and leave my watch And told me to wait for 2-3 weeks. I got it a week after...

Will this affect the value of the watch?
It doesn’t really bother me and I don’t want to loose the watch for a month or so.

If I was to buy your watch it would not bother me at all, because it's an easy and cheap fix during the next service in 10+ years or so.

It's not a defect on a dial or wrong polished case which would be a reason not to buy.

Let it be

I wouldn’t bother with it but why not leave it until year 4.9 of the warranty?

If it’s a 3 week stay, make it worth your while. Other things could break.

I have never seen that before. Now I can’t unsee it so it would have to be fixed for me. It most certainly is a defect so it’s possible that if it’s a air bubble, it could crack in the future.
In today’s Rolex market, that defect will be a liability if that matters to you.
Can you see the defect when it is glowing in the dark?

Well... If you dive with your watch and it's an air bubble... Then it could be an issue considering it is a dive watch. I think Rolex dive watches are tested intact for depth rating so it might be something else.

Could be a crack

I dropped my sub date in the summer and it ended up cracking the the Pearl and the ceramic. I was devastated. Get it checked by RSC.

I have had the same issue on a 116613lb years ago. Ended up flipping it because it bothered me so much.

It seems to have bothered you enough to post it, so I would send it in to be replaced, which will not affect value but will prob improve your enjoyment. It does suck to part with your new watch for a month , but in the long run I think you will be happier.

New Sub c Hulk lume pearl issue

I had a similar issue with my sub c date. There was a very faint, tiny black dot on the pip. It’s a very easy fix actually. Just take it to your local RSC and they should be able to replace it on the spot (no pun intended). Free of charge.
