Unexpected Triple Incoming!

Just got back from probably my best day ever at an AD of any kind after 10+ years of collecting.

Took my wife into the AD about 6 weeks ago to look at watches she might be interested in. She gravitated to a pair of Datejust 31s. One YG TT on jubilee with diamond markers and an MOP dial (gorgeous), and a RG TT on oyster with pink dial (no diamonds). Didn't buy anything that day as she wanted to chew on it. I know my AD pretty well so just told them to give me some time so she could figure it out and I would let them know.

Two weeks later my phone rings. It's the AD. "So hey, did your wife ever decide on a watch?" I say sure, I think we have the one in mind just deciding what celebratory event I want to gift it to her at. AD says they have a BLRO coming in sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and if I pull the trigger on the wife's watch at the same time it's mine. Bundle? Yes. Did I care? Not one bit. I had already about fallen out of my chair at the BLRO offer. Keep in mind this is a small AD and this is the THIRD BLRO they have ever gotten. Ever. Paid for the Datejust for the wife right then and there over the phone (10% off as well! ) and began the longest three week wait of my life.

Was in Dallas on business last week and my phone rang. AD. "So, good news, we just got a shipment in and there is something special in it that we are going to hold out of the case until you can come look at it." My Pepsi!?!?!!?!?!? Nope. Something else. Pepsi should be in soon. The agony of not knowing the "special" treat that was awaiting me.

Phone rings this week and the BLRO has landed! So, head down this morning to collect the BLRO and Datejust for my wife. I'm excited. Start pulling stickers and going through all the fun when out of the back comes a full RG CHNR! I had told them before that I loved this watch, and when they finally got one (small AD again, first one they have ever received), they held it for me so I would get first chance. Pretty special to me.

10% discount later (!), and I walked out with it! A Pepsi, a beautiful Mother of Pearl the wife is in love with (diamonds are on it go figure), and a full RG CHNR at discount saved just for me by an AD that truly cares about making customers happy. Best Rolex day ever!

I have unloaded a bunch of SS watches this year to "move up" into PM - a Platinum DD, WG Blue dial Daytona, and now this CHNR. Best decision I ever made. My collection is smaller, but man is it special to me. And, as an added bonus they had a 5513 in there (not for sale) from a client and they let me wear it. So that photo is included for all my friends at TRF to drool over. Flat 4 Kermit is the watch I walked in with. Came home with a BLRO on the wrist, a Kermit, a full CHNR and a MOP Datejust on the roll. Best day ever!
