16710 GMT 2 Bracelet
I have just bought a 16710 2003 with an oyster bracelet Rolex number 78790A With a date number of AD3 which is also 2003
The bracelet has a bit of stretch So to retain value do I. A. Send the bracelet to a fixer. Who will strip and make good B. Buy a new Oyster bracelet from Rolex and keep the Old one in the box C. Buy a new Oyster bracelet from Rolex and trade in old one D. Buy a new Jubilee Bracelet from Rolex and keep the old one E buy a new bracelet and get the old one sent to a fixer What do I do to keep value with the set. I do fancy a jubilee but will it lower the value compared to an oyster . I can only buy one new bracelet so can't get a new Oyster and jubilee. Thank you |

Just keep it clean and wear it. Let's see it by the way.

New Jubilee and stash the old Oyster. That was the best watch decision I ever made.

F. Send Oyster to Michael Young for a refurb and buy one of these to wear in the interim:

Here are some pics
It is fitted with a coke bezal but the original hangtag shows it to be a 16710BLNR pepsi The UK RSC in kent have quoted £56 for a bezal change to pepsi and £900 for a jubilee bracelet with no trade ins what do forum members recommend. Should the bezal be changed to pepsi as per tag Is the oyster bracelet wearable with that much stretch or should I send it away and get new bracelet before wearing Is it best to keep that coke bezel or take back to original tag format showing pepsi. Or keep as a coke. Is it best to get jubilee bracelet or oyster as originally fitted with oyster as per tag. Would you also keep this coke bezel in the box if changed. as it's what the original owner had put on instead of pepsi when he first bought it. Once it has original strap fixed ..or new bracelet (oyster or jubilee).. or coke or new pepsi. In place it will not be getting swoped about. What goes on stays on. Thank you |

I had a jubilee fitted to mine and keep the oyster aside. That amount of stretch isn’t too bad by looks but obviously the rate of stretch might increase if worn frequently. If it bothers you then get it fixed. But why worry about value now you’ve just got it? I’d keep as is and just get the insert and later down the road sort the bracelet out. Good luck

On wrist, properly fitted and kept clean it should be fine. A new insert will reinvigorate it too. You should be able to find a Jubilee bracelet in decent order for quite a bit less than 900 quid. No rush. Nice GMT!

Wow nice 16710 like what I see. If the bracelet bothers you by all means fix it or replace it. Your insert has a beautiful fade going personally I would just leave it alone and wear it.

Thanks for replies will start wearing today after I contact the insurance company.
Just don't want it falling off arm as stretch is a minefield on the internet Couple of more bits of advice required When everyone says wear tight How tight is tight Is it so there is no gap when arm is horizontal Or a small gap of say 3-4mm And keep it clean I won't be wearing it as a beater mostly 2-3 days a week So is that a wash in luke warm water with baby soap and a first baby toothbrush, then giving it a good rinse through running water once a week. Or would that be to often. As this will be the classic watch in my small collection. I want to get it right from the start Thanks for your advice |
