Yacht-Master 42 (226659) White Gold Size Help

Hi all!

I need your opinion regarding this YM 42 I was offered. I was originally after the RG YM 40 on Oysterflex, but my AD didn’t have it available. They did have the new YM 42 that was released earlier this year at Basel. Once I saw it in the flesh I was totally taken aback! It’s such stunning piece.

How do you all think it fits on my wrist? It feels a lot bigger than my Sky-D, but I think that’s due to the fact the Oysterflex isn’t sized yet, longer lugs, and crown guards. It’s quite a bit of money, so I want to do my proper due diligence before purchasing. Does anyone know the price of the Oysterflex straps? I tried to call the Dallas RSC, but they’re closed for the holiday. The way the deal is structured, I may have to make a decision before they open tomorrow (time difference).

I apologize for the photo quality. My iPhone 6S Plus is due for a replacement lol.

The photo on the left looks perfect on your wrist. The one on the right looks odd because the OF is not sized. I think if you are wearing a Sky-D the YM 42 would work fine. I did see it in person when I bought my WG Sub and it is a really nice looking setup. Good luck!

The mirror pic looks super. The other not so much.

It’s a good looking watch. Size it right and it’ll likely fit you better.

This is just my opinion but if you wear the watch above your wrist then it will look too large regardless of the OF strap size. If you let it slide down to rest just below it, then the visual context to your hand would make it look better.

Like I said, it’s just my 2¢

O you got the right one and not an easy one to find. I saw one on the wrist of a good customer at my ADs and it's a stunner. The bezel and dial is a wOw factor for sure. Enjoy that Beauty!!...

If I recall, a pair of oysterflex straps are somewhere around $500-550?
