Complementary 3rd watch for a collection
Hey all,
I have a 114060 sub and 116710BLNR along with the Hulk. I haven’t meshed with the Hulk and have contemplated selling/trading it. Some of the watches that stuck out to me are... 116622 blue dial Some kind of date just 5 digit sub/GMT Any other recommendations on a watch that would fit well with the other 2, being that the sub and the GMT look pretty similar? I’d be looking to move laterally or down from the Hulk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd get a mint 14060M complete set and I'd save the difference for a future purchase.

I cannot blame you for putting the 116622 first in the list, I own one and it's stunning peice, however if i was lucky to have a collection like yours, then I will not add YM as it's a sub upgrade and look pretty similar, I'll go for DJ41 on smooth bezel, still sporty but dressy as well, more versatility...

If I was you, I'd sit on that Hulk till Basel. Never know what might happen, i.e., discontinuations, new pieces, etc.
Or, if you've got your heart set on something else right now, make a move. Life's short. |

Have you thought about a DayDate? Or if the fluted bling doesn’t fit your style then I suppose a smooth bezel DJ of some kind.

All great recommendations so far, definitely looking into some of the options. I'm not in a rush to swap out, but definitely am not opposed to it. |

My recommendation would be to sell the hulk during this season. You've already learned that It's not the watch for you, and it's definitely a seller's market right now.
Prices could be dropping in the new year, especially if the economy slows. The hulk is one of the models that could drop the hardest. Before prices went crazy, most people felt like you do; it was an unloved model. Remove the hype and the profiteering, and the watch will be selling on its merits alone. This is a very good time to get away from a piece that you don't want. Sent from my SM-J327P using Tapatalk

I think the 116622 blue dial is a great choice. Different with the platinum bezel, slimmer profile and of course dial color. It is a beautiful watch if you've seen it in the metal.

If you want to stay in the Rolex brand, the DJ 41 would be a nice addition and meets your price criteria. Otherwise, have you considered Grand Seiko?

Myself a Rolex fan, but why not more variation. JLC or Glashutte? Or even better ALS or a Vacheron...

All good recommendations. The blue dial DJ41 is definitely starting to grow on me...
Also think the Milgaus is interesting, but I'll have to look into it more. |

Agreed. Another great compliment. A polished bezel Daytona would make an amazing trio and compliment the 2 Ceramic nicely

I'd like to echo the suggestions to hold onto your Hulk until Baselworld.
I'd also like to suggest getting something that doesn't have a Rolex sport-style bezel, or better yet, a different watch from a different manufacturer altogether. I think you'll appreciate the no-date Sub and the GMT even more that way.

Sell them all, buy a Smurf, and use the remainder to take the wife or friend on vacation.
