Saw this OP in the for sale section

Wow, this speaks to me as a dress watch! Gorgeous!!

Not sure why I didn’t notice this before

I was wondering how the dial plays in different lighting conditions?

And any other feedback?

Thanks

(Borrowed pic, hopefully that’s ok )

Isn’t that the Rhodium dial. I have seen it in person and it does look quite nice. I like the green dial even more though but I think it’s only available in 34mm

The dial is beautiful, but tough to read in low light, especially if your eyes aren't adjusted. It is also tough read underwater.

I own one and the lighting really affects the dial colour in a lovely way and it’s very versatile.

It does have a dull look at times dependent on conditions and the dial and bracelet can wash away. But as a dress Rolex I can highly recommend it

PRO's: Not too blingy, flies under the radar, and it is a Rolex.

CON's: heh, none.

I dont understand the concept of a 'dress watch'.

A submariner is a dress watch, so is a GMT, or a Nautilus...unless you have a time machine that transports you back to the early 1900's.

Its a spectacular watch. I've seen it in person several times. Would buy it, but its too small for my wrist. Le sigh.

...ANY chance that Rolex comes out with a 40/41/42mm oyster perpetual??

Here's another rhodium dial with blue contrast. This is not my watch, but I like this color combination on the Oyster perpetual, and the Yachtmaster.

The dial does change a bit in different lighting conditions, but light playing off the hour markers is the real show :)

Screw-down crown, oyster case, 100m WR. What's wrong with diving with it?

The only negative feedback I have (I own a white dial) is that the bracelet clasp does not come with an easy link and could be hard to size without it.

I upgraded mine and installed a bracelet from an Explorer and I absolutely love the watch.

Other than that, the OP39 is a great everyday watch hands down.

It is a classic design updated by a monochrome palette punctuated by blue accents. The use of bigger indices with lume introduces an imbalance to my eye - might be better with uniform hour indices.

But it is no dress watch as pictured. You could bring it closer to dress use with a black alligator strap though.

If you like it then none of our opinions really matter - you should be pleased with it for quite a while.

Its waterproof to 330 feet or more if you accept Rolex’s testing.... Why not dive with it?

That dial is really beautiful in person and does so many different things, depending on the angle. As others have said, there are major visibility issues in low light, which is the reason I ended up selling mine.

If not for the silly blue indices on the chapter ring, I would own that watch.

Those dots take away from the "timeless" appeal of Rolex, IMHO. Same for some of the other OP39. However, the black and white dials are perfect to me. Esp the white dial OP39.

Great dial! It can appear silver to almost black depending on the light.

I couldn’t find that alligator strap picture, but this image off the Everest website gives you a pretty good idea of how cool this watch looks on a leather band

Buy it or look at the new white OP 39 model.
Both are great entry pieces.

It's the 39mm oyster perpetual rhodium dial. I own one. Very understated which is why I bought it. The sunburst dial really pops in the sunshine or under lights. No date so no Cyclops which keeps it under the radar and easy to set the time of you haven't worn in awhile. It's a great dress watch and I like that it's so different to the sports models. Good value too
