How tough is a datejust?
I'm asking specifically about a stainless, fluted on an oyster bracelet. I know it's 100m water proof and is a Rolex and all the toughness that comes with that, but is it really meant to be worn outside of the office?
Some background from where I'm coming from. I really like the 36mm Explorer. I like that it is dressy enough to wear to work, tough and sporty enough to wear while doing yard work, hunting, whatever you want, and you'll never have to worry about it in any setting and is under the radar. I'm getting married next year and my wife to be wants to gift me a watch and the 36mm Explorer being discontinued is what turned my attention to the datejust since we could get a brand new one. I want to do everything in the watch but I worry about being too active in the datejust. I always felt like they were meant for the office. I'm also curious about how the polished center links on the oyster bracelet hold up. I now it is tough, but was it really meant for active wear? I'm currently in the process of hunting down a 39mm 214270 Explorer but have a feeling it's going to be too big for my taste. Thanks! |
