Modern Ghost Bezel

Maybe not quite, but myself love how the LNc's bezel looks metallic in some lighting and has a touch of ghost look. Rolex hit it out of the park with the 6 digit design and imo shows how far ahead of the design trends they were almost a decade ago

I have noticed this before as well, looks really cool almost like a smoke grey.

Sure does. And imo a little more noticeable than other references bc of less of the PVCd Platinum as part of the inlay compared to other LN bezels

Thanks mate, ideally the old one would be dateless (doesn't get as much wear) and the new would have date as I find it useful, but you jump on the opportunities you get with these things!

Respectfully disagree on the "ghost" appeal of a new model Sub Ceramic. They wanted it to have an everlasting look and the bezel material is reflective.

A ghost bezel is a faded and patina trait of paint on aluminum and a SubC will never have that appeal. If you like the ghost, buy the old ones.

I think the new SubCs are awesome and have their own appeal. But "ghost bezel", it is not.

Agree. I have a 16800 semi-ghost bezel (going for a blue hue) and modern DSSD, I don't ever see the ceramic bezel becoming close to a ghost bezel in the next century

That's why I said touch of Ghost. Ghost of course is different and more of a patina. The Ceramic bezel though certainly has the ability to shift between polished black, matte black, polished silver/metallic depending on the lighting. It's a chameleon. The only thing it doesn't look like ever imo is the perfect condition aluminum bezel. You may already own a LN, but if not it's tough to really show in pics and I think it's more than just reflective. If you take a strong flashlight to LN bezels you can see some metallic elements to the color compound. Almost like a nice metallic black paint on a car. Tough to capture in a photo though, but I'll see if I can find one

Here is a pic showing the ceramic bezel in a “hazy” way.

Cool but nothing other than the nature of black ceramic. Rado did it ages ago.
