Do you ever find yourself....

Hello TRF-people,

I was at a movie a couple of nights ago and I think I spotted a Panerai watch on the wrist of the leading actor. Yesterday, at half time, when I watched Liverpool beat the crap out of Real Madrid I saw Butch Harmon (golftrainer) wearing a Rolex on a golf session in the Swedish Golf Digest, and earlier today I saw a girl on the cover of a local newspaper wearing a Yacht Master. Went to a Roadshow that buys and sells gold/jewelry and watches, the guy is wearing a Rolex sub from -77. And finally got a closer look on the wrist of a lawyer today, wearing a Yacht Master with a TT bracelet.

Do you find yourself looking more at peoples wrists, than their faces...
Will this syndrome ever stop, or is it the price you have to pay once you have joined this FORUM.

Question! Do I have to live with this the rest of my life
//Fred

Oh yes. It makes my HD & DVR invaluable. I can't watch TV without rewinding at every wrist shot. My wife and I enjoy watch spotting whenever we're out and about.

Absolutely! In fact, I watched the movie "Street Kings" on HBO over the weekend. In the opening scene, Keanu Reeves is wearing a GMT Master II.

I asked my wife if she wanted to watch the movie "Rightous Kill" featuring a Tutima watch.

I found that the more I look the less I see. When I'm looking for one I can't find a thing. Stop looking and one magically appears!

Rolexitis,.......... I think they make pills for this!!! I still look at a person's face first then I go for the wrist.
As for addiction I believe you are infected till you die. At least that's what I've been told!!!

Actually, the watch is the first thing I notice when I meet someone for the first time, as long as that someone is not female....

I do too, but usually only when I'm with Aadil so he can verify if I'm right When I'm on the train or whatever I think to myself excitedly "Oh, that's a _____! I think... I wish I could ask..."

Hi Fred, I guess you have to live with it. Yes. I find myself looking at wrists and watches all the time and get upset if I can not really tell what it is

Yes, I do look at watches in movies, etc. It's a disease...

My kids like ABBA, so recently I watched one of their old videos on YouTube...I think it's "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)," the one where the video depicts the band recording in the studio. Because they're recording, the female singers are wearing earphones. They often lift up their arms to touch their ears. I swear that the brunette/redhead (Anni-Fried) is wearing a gold Datejust.

Check it out at the 20 second mark...(and no, I don't expect any guy to watch the video just to notice the watch).

There is just no end to my sickness...Today I talked to a guy at work a psychiatrist, have noticed he wears a Sub with no date, haven´t really gotten a good look at the watch before. Now I showed him mine 16610 and he showed me his.......Watch!

He told me it was a -70 sub nd, the bracelet and everything felt ok but something was wrong. The dial had the whitegold markers surrounding the luminova. I asked him about it and he told me he had left the crown in the outer position on his latest holiday, when he was diving... and after that the watch needed a 1000 USD service. I remember telling him a couple of months ago that the crown was not screwed in as it is supposed to be!!! Anyway he is told me his insurance covered it.
Later he told me a story about when he bought a early -60 sub in Zürich in the 1990 he paid 1200 USD, he recently sold it for 7000 USD.
Now he is looking for a Vintage Daytona. I bet I spot it right away...

I took this habit as well but to my defence I had it even before I joined TRF with something else. Having had a passion for jewels since quite a few years I always looked for nice chains, bracelets or rings on people...watches were just added to the list a few years later!

As for looking in movies and television shows, I do notice such details quite often. I must say I was pretty happy when I spotted that one, my favorite superhero wearing one of my favorite watches...
