Daytona dial swap

I know that mods to a Rolex are generally frowned upon, but I’m curious to know if anyone has ever put a dial for a white 116500 on a 116520... I may be the odd man out, but I prefer the dial on the newer model and the bezel on the older one.

I’d like to see it, sounds like it would work...I would think if one wanted a white dial with black sub rings the 16520 would fit the bill

Why not just get a white 16520... it would have that look.

Agree with previous posters. Why not just get a 16520. It's definitely what I want to get!

Whilst a great watch, and the Zenith based 4030 movement is very good, I firmly believe that the In House Rolex 4130 movement is superior.

The only thing thats perhaps superior over the Zenith with the Rolex movement is the extra power-reserve and less movement parts. But in terms of accuracy and longevity of life which are more important both equal.

The 16520 wins over the 116500 or 116520 in my mind due to the brushed lugs, less flashy / more classic

The ability to hack the movement in the new version I found particularly useful. I owned both and as you say, about similar in accuracy.

Current market price of the 16520 is the negating factor in acquiring one.... I like the 5 digit model much more than the other two, but buying one is not in the cards right now... I bought a 116520 in 2014, but traded it after four years for a pair of Rolex that I like and wear much more than I did the Daytona... I don’t miss the Daytona, but something made me think of swapping dials yesterday and getting that done would be a much more cost effective route to take for basically the same look.
