I never understood why people leave these on. Especially the old style ones. I’ve always found them to make a watch uncomfortable because it doesn’t slide around on the wrist smoothly with the sticker (just my $.02)

It’s the going to the trouble of listing it on eBay for 20 quid that tickles me!

People will actually try and sell anything... What's worse is that there's people who will buy the stuff.

I had a buyer flake on me when I told him I had removed the sticker from the watch back.

It's so gross to keep the sticker of the case back on. All those accumulated germs. Your own is terrible enough imagine buying a used watch brrrrrrrr.

It's actually a selling point. The watch could be banged up but 'still retains original hologram'.. and someone else's grossness. People must consider it part of 'the full set'.

I have removed several case back stickers that were pristine. I guess it could have sold them.... lol

In all seriousness, I am really wondering HOW a person would remove one and salvage it. Whenever I have removed them, they left a goey mess and were NOT coming off clean or with the hologram or reference code.

I just got my '05 gmtll, had the clear over the green sticker. Threw the gross clear away then peeled the green sticker off with a toothpick and stuck it on the warranty paper. The clear sticker kept it like new but no way would I leave it on.

No, but thinking I haven't heard the term "manky" before.

Nice.

x2 To both of those points. Regarding the 2nd I found they kind of do the 'VOID' thing where they don't come off in one piece but leave a load of chequered squares behind. Similar happens when removing tamper stickers on electronic equipment. Apparently it can be avoided to keep the warranty should one wish to get at the fans and heat sinks by using a hairdryer to warm the stickers up and they'll come off in one piece to be craftily replaced after going at your PS4 with a screwdriver.

It was a thing back in the 80’s to keep that green hologram sticker on, thank goodness the 80’s are over.

I think it’s only used in the UK.

Thankfully this stickered piece only have my germs from new. Never got around to removing them.

Other than faded print, this serves as a scratch protection for the case back. Glass half full thinking.

Always removed mine, they irritated my wrist. Not sure how they managed to remove one intact. Mine was a nasty sticky mess, had to use nail polish remover to get the residue from the caseback.
