Any owners of the 1940s Chronomats? (ref 769, 801, 786)
Hello folks. Anyone here an owner of a 1940s Chronomat, specifically the references 769, 786, and/or 801?
I've been in love with the 801 for about 3 years, and have been keeping an eye on the market for a fine example. They're tough, as you could imagine. I think it'd be a fantastic idea to collect the trio, but I have no idea how long that would take, given how rare the 786 is. Anyway, if you're an owner of the above, what's owning such a chronograph like? Is its accuracy decent? Do you have to find an extremely specialized watchmaker to maintain them? How did you purchase your 40's Chronomat? If it was one of the rarer ones, did you just wait for one to show up on ebay/chrono24 or did you actively ask around dealers? Finally... share a pic, if you'd like!
