Personally, I would use one of the third party service centers. I think to do a buffing correctly, they have to disassemble - which at that point you might as well have a service done. 7 years - you are about due for a service. Wait a couple years and have the service and polish done at the same time. I had mine recently serviced at RolliWorks and they did an excellent job. Their reviews of polishing are very good!

Contact Michael Hui at Rolliworks. He is a member on here and does amazing work. He is working on my YM 16622 right now. He has a lot of examples of his work on the below thread, as well as his website.

Their view is that there are x number of times that the watch should be refinished before it's tolerance is exceeded. Refinishing outside normal periodic service calls unnecessarily removes metal and decreases it's expected life.

If you want the watch polished, it will be disassembled so the various final finishing can be properly accomplished.
The case is opened and the crown, crystal and movement are removed - you will be quoted a full service which includes the polishing. But they balk at putting it all back together without servicing the movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yes, but why? It would mean taking the watch apart and for this reason it would also need a service. Guess what happens when you start wearing it again? Yes, you will get scratches. Just be patient and wait till your watch really needs a service. You could always buff it yourself with Cape Cod cloth and a fiber pen if you know what you are doing.

It’s a 2012 watch from what you say and I’d certainly recommend a service at some point soon. Maybe deal with the scratches a bit longer then go for a full service

Wait a few years until the watch plays up and than combine with a full service
