Submariner vs GMT II BLNR

I have been on teh waiting list for the SS Submariner Date for about 6 months now. Currently have the Rootbeer CHNR and I love it and I thought the SS would be a good complement to the rose gold. I saw the Batman live yesterday and fell in love. I am not keen on having two GMT's, but I like the idea of one Jubilee and one Oyster along with one SS and one TT rose gold. With the Sub I was keen on a tool watch. What do you guys think?

I was actually considering getting a jubilee bracelet for the Sub and this will save me money - and the bezel wakes the watch!

Sounds like you prefer the BLNR but are stuck with the thought of having two GMT’s.

I don’t think that really matters. Unless you plan on doing some serious diving, or really need the Glidelock, the BLNR does everything the Sub does and more.

I own both the BLNR and Black sub w/date. I got the BLNR in October and have been wearing it since. I haven’t wore the sub since I purchased the BLNR. I got the sub back in June 2017 so yeah. I still love it but the BLNR is my go to at the moment. Don’t know if that helps but both watches are awesome imo.

I also own all these, CHNR, BLNR two blk subs and the hulk. They’re all pretty special but I don’t have a favorite.

I have the SubC Date and the Batman Jubilee as well. I like them both. It will be a totally different feel from the CHNR which has the Oyster. Two different colors and bracelets it will feel like two different watches. Good Luck!

Get the jubilee blnr if you have a chance. You can sell the rootbeer later and buy the sub if you want to scratch that itch.

If you can afford it, I wouldn’t get caught up in the whole 2 GMT thing. They wear very differently. Buy an extra brushes glidelock bracelet for the BLNR and then in a ping you have “three” very different looks.

Between the two, I will go with the sub unless it's a oyster batman.

I have a SubC and Blnr oyster. Just tried on a Chnr today, not a TT guy but I was very impressed. It actually sounds like a good thought and nothing wrong with having two Gmts, they're the same model but sooo.. different and having the perfect proportions for a 6 digit reference I say it would be something to consider.

Get the BLNR too, they are different watches on wrist and you will enjoy both. You found a bunch of enablers here BTW

Face it, you're probably gonna end up with both before it's all over. So now, it's just a question of which one you get first.

If the sub comes in before you can get the BLNR, just let nature take its course.

Do the new BLNR. It’s Rolex perfection. It’s upscale sporty and will be your most comfortable watches.

Here is how I would look at it but your view point may be different:
No way would I buy the current Sub with the Sub with the new 3235 movement just around the corner. That said, unless you are a professional diver and dive below 426 feet there is nothing the GMT won’t do the Sub can. So why would you want to pay top dollar for a very common dive watch with a outdated movement?? It’s never going to be rare or more desirable than the latest, greatest next Sub model as they made millions and millions of them.
If you “need” a technical diving watch for whatever reason, you will get a DSSD as it is the alpha dive watch in the catalog and has a updated movement.
This is what I did as I much prefer a 4 hand Rolex and it’s complication over the Sub. Even if the Sub had a newer 3235 movement I prefer the GMT movement and its hour jump feature.

I'm convinced! Thanks to all who weighed in!
