PAM424 or PAM372?

Hi all,
I am choosing my first Panerai.
Radiomir California 424 or Luminor 372?
I will appreciate your advice about it! Thanks!

Happy holidays!

An interesting duo. Very different to each other. Despite being a homage to a newer model I would argue that the 372 is more classic Panerai. It would also be easier to move on if you were bitten by the Panerai bug and wanted to buy more...

The 424 will wear a bit more flush to the wrist, but both will wear large and blingy - large dials and domed crystal and shiny all polished steel cases.

Good luck and enjoy whichever.

Thanks for the insights! ;) I must admit that - currently - 372 is in pole position.
Both are awesome on my wrist. Tested live in Panerai Venice Boutique this afternoon.

372 for me. Plexi.

A 47mm Radiomir is a great move, but I would go for a 232 instead. Something about the thick case of the 424 with the thin wire lugs doesn’t do it for me. YMMV.

If you really want a Cali dial, look for a 249.

I’d go 372 plexi and go for 448/449 so I get the blue hands as well

Though if I can redo my 47mm collection all over again,I’d skip 372 and go directly with 368 and 339 duet

372 all the way! Thought I'd never get a base model until I laid eyes on the 372. It's possibly my favourite watch right now.

Its not easy to give a recommendation. Do you want a Radiomir or Luminor as a first Panerai? Clifornia dial or a classic dial?
Personally I would choose a Luminor for a first one but that has no further reason I just like them more than the Radiomirs and the 372 is a real classic PAM with a lot DNA.

Both are great watches and it comes down to which case do you want. Of a one and only I would probably go with the 372. No bad choice though.

Not to hijack the thread but I’ve been looking real hard at the 01046

Sold my 372 as a trade with a used dealer on a M serial 16613 blue tt sub .

422 and 372 very alike,but prefer the 422 .

Thank you all! :-)
I am definitely adding the 422 to my list and probably the Radiomir will go out.
I will stay for a current production model since I want to buy it new from AD.
I will keep you informed!

Hello, I own both a 372 and a 424. Wearing the 424 today but 372 gets a bit more wrist time. You can’t go wrong either way but I think a 372 is first.

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing!
I agree: Luminor 372 is first!

For your first Panerai you need the crown guard

372 all day long. It's solid Panerai DNA.

Yes, it will be a Luminor: 372 or 422.
I'll keep you posted ;)
