Thinking of 4100 - Is my logic faulty?

Hey guys!

I've been looking in to vintage Royal Oaks for a few months now for a few reasons.

First, I have a 7 inch wrist and like wearing 36mm watches. I hate crowns that dig in to my list and thought my 36mm date just was the perfect size.

Second, I love the two toned examples. I know that's an unpopular opinion, but I think it looks great on that design.

And last, I love the thin profile.

So I looked at 4100's and 14790's. With these I know it's about buying the seller essentially. However I see lots on Chrono in Europe that have been serviced by their own watchmakers.

I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on a 14790 hoping service has been done correctly etc.

I was thinking of picking up a 4100 on the lower end of the range, not perfect but with warranty from the seller. Of course I do this knowing that when I send it in the movement will be replaced, possibly dial and hands, refinishing etc. The bonus to that is when that happens I essentially get a new that I now know the history of. The cost of a cheaper 4100 plus the service should be similar to a nicer example where I'm still unsure of the service. And I would get to wear it a year or two before that service hopefully.

Anyway, if you see any reasons why this doesn't make sense, I'd love to hear it. I'm new at the royal oak thing.
