The proper way to wear your Rolex.

There have been multiple threads lately maintaining that there is a correct and wrong wrist position for a Rolex.

I was curious whether Rolex had an official position on this issue. So, I asked Rolex HQ. Rolex emailed me these pics with the following message:

"It’s all good. You can wear it on your ankle for all we care. It's not about the wrist, it's about the watch. Sincerely, Rolex HQ ."

It’s a matter of common sense not rocket science
Yet, all pictures above or almost all of them show the watches above the wrist bone.

Common sense, your wrist will tell you. Put the watch on, it’s comfortable then leave it.
Can’t understand how asking the public will help, it’s like asking how you should wear a belt around your waste.

The hand bangle. Don't do it and you're fine. For the love of God don't do the hand bangle.

People actually wear their Rolex watches, wow.

I thought that they just became safe queens after being bought, lived their lives in the dark only bought out for a polish and gentle stroke with a microfibre cloth.

A novel idea actually wearing them.

A WIS will tell you that it is above the wrist bone, and tight, it allows free wrist mobility in all positions and less wear on the bracelet, now if you see photos of models, artists or actors almost everyone uses it as a bracelet, that is loose. In my case I wear it tight because is a big badasswatch for my small wrist. You?

The proper way to wear a Rolex is to put it in your wrist.

I don't think Rolex cares how or who wears (or flips) their watches. All they care about is that the consumers buy their watches.

From my experience, if I use the brazalet loose, the watch falls on my hand, when I get up from a place and use my hand for support on a chair or table I find that the watch prevents me from moving my wrist and if the movement is abrupt I I have caused pain, so I use it tight above the wrist, for practical porpouses, no aesthetical.

I wear it above the wrist bone so it sits flat on my wrist, and when I bend my hand back it doesn't hit the crown.

I wear my PM pieces a bit more snug, just above the wrist bone. SS usually looser and as a result, they move more freely above or below the wrist bone.

The proper way to wear your Rolex.

Damn - seems I need to see the AD for a few more links for ankle fitting.

Good thing I sit with my non dominate right leg crossed on top of the left all the time - should make reading the time easier.

Wonder how much that will set me back - wife is not gonna be happy.

Cheers

Steve

Wear it whichever way is most comfortable for you. There is no right or wrong on comfort. This question is like whether or not a watch is too big for you. If you like it the way it is, then only you can decide as you are the one wearing it. Opinions will always differ.

However, it is called a wrist watch for a reason. It was designed to worn on the wrist and most typically in the area where your wrist bone is. The area above it is the hand and the area below the wrist is the arm.

But who really cares, useless you wanted to get technical.

The proper way to wear your Rolex.

One watch at a time on one wrist.

Castro was a huge fan of the brand. In the early days of his regime he reportedly wore two watches; one on Havana time, one on Moscow time.

He also gifted Rolex watches to friends and government officials. He famously gifted Che Guevara a 1675 Pepsi that is now in the possession of the retired CIA agent who was part of the team that captured/executed him in Bolivia in 1967. Apparently Che wore his in a more conventional style.......

lol! Was that the actual response from Rolex?

How uncharacteristically tongue-in-cheek of Rolex. Could it be possible that someone at Rolex actually has a sense of humor?
