Thailand / Singapore Recommendations?

Will be in Thailand and Singapore for about 11 days and thought I'd ask the TRF crew for recommendations.

We will be going to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Bangkok, and Singapore.

I've already been warned about going to ping pong shows in Thailand.

Singapore: Plenty of obvious choices, yet be sure to eat once or thrice at the food stalls.

If you have a chance, when in Phuket take the ferry to Koh Phi Phi Don (bring the GoPro) and explore the surrounding islands / scuba dive, etc.

Hope this helps as enjoyed quite a few months living in Singapore. And as funny as this might sound, the Singapore airport itself is a wonderful destination.

I was in Chiang Mai and Bangkok in Oct. In Chiang Mai make sure to go to the Saturday night walking market. It is insane. I swear the whole city comes out to it. More delicious food than you can shake a stick at and its all dirt cheap. I stayed in the old city and walked everywhere or took a Grab, similar to Uber, which I found fast, efficient, and cheap. Bangkok is hot, crowded, and dirty. But again, great food. I had fun there but I have friends from the US that retired there so they know the lay of the land, are foodies, and have been there 17 years. They just moved full time down to Hua Hin on the coast which is also a great place to visit. Never been to Phuket. Huge tourist destination.

Enjoy your trip, feel free to pm if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I think we are planning on doing some sort of island tour for the day in Phuket. Will definitely have the go pro. I wonder if I can fly my drone there.

Have heard amazing things about the airport. Definitely want to check it out.

Thank you.

Was not aware that Grab was the Uber alternative. I'm sure that will come in handy.

We are planning to do a day at an elephant nature park. Seems like it will be nice.

You're welcome.

My friends who live there turned me onto Grab. As you will find out everyone uses it for everything. Cabs, food delivery, business stuff. You will see scooters and cars everywhere with Grab lights on them. I must have taken 50 grab rides in the 2 weeks I was there and never had an issue.

No CC required. it's all cash. Download the app in one min and you are up and running. What would be a $25 Uber ride will be like a $3-4 Grab ride.

We didn't do the elephant park but heard it was okay! I did a safari in Botswana years ago and got my fill.

Enjoy!

Nothing funny about it. Singapore Changi Airport is one of the best in the World!
