Looking to make a double purchase GMT-IIc and XXX?

I am planning to purchase a GMT-IIc SS and at the same time I would like to purchase a companion for it.

Which would you choose to complement the GMT-IIc SS; either a TT Sub or a Yachtmaster? Or would you choose something else?

I am interested to know your opinions!

-Frankie

I Know it is not a choice but why not a TT GMT Why not the perfect Companion for a GMT is another GMT. You can NEVER have too much of a GREAT Thing.

By the way just save your money IMHO the only watch you will ever want is the IIc. There is no reason for any other.

I currently have GMT II C and several other SS sports models so I would have said maybe Sub LV alongside the new GMT??? Looks like at the moment they are quite easy to come by, I picked up a new one dated Feb 09 for £3200 (Absolute bargain!!). Great watch IMO but IF they discontinue it as Basel watch it will go into short supply immediately and command massive demand!!! But at the end of the day buy what feels right for you. You will know the best choice when you try it on everybody is totally different but like postiff says once you wear the GMT nothing else will get wrist time!!! I have 2 SS Daytonas and they very rarely see the light of day!!! Good luck and enjoy the sale!!!

DSSD gets my vote...I guess. Once you wear the IIC, it's very hard to go back to the models that don't have upgrades.

How about something a little outside the box, something more dressy? A Cellini might be a nice companion, have the GMT for everyday wear, and the Cellini for those special occasions.

I'll put in a vote for the Milgauss. It's a sports model, but dresses up just fine. It's a nice compliment to the GMT IIc.

Hmmmmm I like your thinking, maybe something dressy would be a nice complement... Maybe a DJ or DD would be better suited.

A DJ or a DD will certainly handle the knocks better than a Cellini. Both the DJ and the DD 36mm are fairly customisable, and have a very nice choice of dials, as well as having the bezel and bracelet choices too. The DD II is still lacking a bit on that front, the dials are somewhat limited, but it does have the presence that such an expensive watch needs. Try some on, you really can't go far wrong with either.

Day date II

If you have the cash and want something dressy, then go for the Day Date II in white gold or Platinum. The 41mm dial size will compliment the GMT IIC and you will not feel like you are wearing a ladies watch, (sorry guy's).

Thanks,

Difficult choice...TT Sub is likely to be upgraded in a few weeks at Basel, YM is nice, but poor clasp, and I find the dial hard to read as the contrast with the hands is poor.

I would say Daytona or a TT DJ. I think if you have a Rolex with a rotatable bezel, any of the other models are a little superfluous, unless you are a diver.

consider the yacht master. wonderful watch and a different look than the IIc, but still a Rolex sport model with a magnificent bezel.

if you wanted something that was a bit more dressy and a contrast you could go for one of these
