1991 or 2006 16613 Bluesy
I'm in looking to buy a Bluesy and I found 2 with full sets.
But I'm not sure which one to get. I like the tritium dial as it might turn into purple but not fan of the clasp. On 2006 I like the gold clasp and no lug holes. I can't make up my mind, Which one would you guys get ? |

I have a 1999 or 2000 Swiss only dial TT blue Sub. I wish I would have spent the extra $300 at the time (January 2018- during the missile crisis in Hawaii) and got one with the gold through clasp and no lug holes. To me the TT should not have lug holes, but all other Subs should.

If priced the same, I would go for the 2006 model.

This just means you have more soul searching to do to find out exactly what you want in the watch you purchase. Look at all the minute differences like font on the dial and difference in movement and amount of wear each one has and soon it will be clear which one you really want. Good luck!

Personally I would get the newer one. Plus, I like the gold through the clasp which would push me even more so for the newer model.

I was strongly leaning toward the gold thru clasp but after buying and owning a 1991 Bluesy, I think I actually prefer the all steel clasp design. You never really look at it anyway! It’s stronger, and the internet is the only place people post pics of their clasps all over.

The 2006 .... although mine is a 2008 M with the Gold through the clasp as well with the engraved Rehaut which is ideal.

Different movements, SEL/non-SEL.
Get the one in the best shape that you are willing to pay the money for.

2006 (Z) very rare. Only in 2006 Rolex made Sub 16613 without the engraved RRR on inner bezel, but with newer plastic warranty card. 2003 to 2005 (no holes) was with paper warranty and 2007 - 2011 was made with RRR on inner bezel with plastic warranty card. I have 2006 full set.

Buy the better condition one.
Condition is everything when buying pre-owned. I would like to have SEL one if condition is the same.

I have a D serial purchased 2/2006 with paper warranty. I assume it’s a 2005 model. I have had it for 14 years, love it. Can’t go wrong with either model, but I prefer no holes and gold through the clasp.
Cheers, Tim |

Get the newer one. It takes time for those dials to change color. Also the gold thru clasp makes the band flow and as strong as the all metal one !!!

Cheers guys ,I have made up my mind. I'm going to get the 2006 D serial one. I really like the tritium dial dial, but gold through clasp and SEL has won it over.
Thanks all for your replies |

You wont regret your decision. The gold through the clasp finishes off the look. I agree with a previous comment that TT looks better without lug holes.
