F. P. Journe
Hey all - been on the market for a Journe piece for a while and finally found the piece for me. The Centigraphe!
Against better judgement, I’m buying without trying it on. I know the fit would work for me. Not concerned about that. My concern is around meeting expectations. There are a lot of videos preaching about the quality, exclusivity, weight, and reliability. Nothing really out there talking about long term satisfaction with the piece. Any Journe owners care to comment on what it feels like to own one long term? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Special pieces.
Clarity of vision and a meaningful contribution to horology. How you will feel about it is impossible to say?

I love the centigraphe...which iteration are you getting? My favorite is either the aluminum or titanium. I’ve tried them on and you will not be disappointed.

I can’t answer about long term yet, but I have a Chronometre Souverain that I absolutely adore. It is stunning to me on the wrist

These type of questions are so subjective I’m not sure any answer is relevant to YOU.
It’s a big commitment, these are not cheap watches new or used. Fingers crossed it’s hitting the spot for you. Which Centigraphe did you buy? |

Nice one! I’d suggest a bluish strap to match the handset. Post pics when it arrives.

First order of business, get a new strap. That black strap does nothing for the watch and with that grey dial you’ll find many different straps will work.

Agreed. Seen it on a black strap with red stitching from Journe. Completely changes the watch. Excited to try a variety on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP, great to see someone else in a similar Journe journey (copyrighted). I have similar feelings. I just got two. Have not seen either and have not put in on my wrist. I have not ever seen one in the flesh. Decision was years in the making. Weekly I keep falling for the brand, the vision and all the rest. I am devouring any media on it. In fact, just bought the $250 book. To top, I won’t see my pieces until late summer. Please share more of your Journe journey with pics and thoughts. The group here chiming in have some great insight and have provided me loads of guidance. I am so thrilled for you. Love your Centigraphe. Let me know your strap experience.

I have that same watch and love it. Another vote to swap straps. I put it on the dark red/burgundy strap and never looked back.

Incredible. I just inquired about a 5164 yesterday. And the Zeitwerk made my list a few months back. Weird to see my future collection in this thread. You have great taste. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks. I just snagged the Gauthier and Zeitwerk recently. They are great. I’m considering a DeBethune for the last spot in the box...but there is so much good stuff out there. I think you’ll really like your Journe. Great pieces to have in any modern collection in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have another thread going on that very subject. Leaning towards DeBethune DB28 but also Akrivia, Gronedeld, and possibly a Ferdinand Berthoud...but that’s a stretch.

Of those mentioned, Gronefeld would be my choice. Again, great collection. Rock on.
