SD43 for 30th

Been actively trying to score my first Rolex for about three years now to no avail. Frankly, I gave up on the brand altogether due to sheer frustration after countless failed attempts to procure one these past few years. I had actually developed a bitter taste in my mouth due to all the shenanigans. I quickly learned what was necessary to get the hot ss models... spend $50k+ to earn the "privilege" to buy one. Not a fan of these policies or the artificial scarcity. But one day out of the blue one of the AD's I had my name down with hit me up to say that my Dweller was in. I don't know if it was an active effort on their end or if it just happened to work out this way, but it arrived just in time for my 30th, which I'd mentioned would be a lovely occasion to gift myself a Rolex. Anyways, so I finally got one and it's fantastic- bitter feelings slightly dissipating. Being a bigger guy, the fit is absolutely perfect. I really wanted the Root Beer and will likely still get one, however the SD undoubtedly is the better fitting watch for my massive wrist. You really do see and feel the quality in a Rolex, imo. Hoping to add at least a couple more before branching off to some other brands like Patek, FP Journe, etc. I am on the list for a Hulk and CHNR, though I'm not stoked about the price increases (especially on the CHNR). One day a Platona would be lovely too!

Below are a couple photos I just snapped of my awesome new SD43!

Congrats on the new addition! The SD43 is quite a watch. Mine has been my daily wearer and was my first brand new Rolex

Nice pick up! I got hit up for mine after about 3 months of waiting without any prior purchases. I wore it for the past month thinking it might settle in to be more accurate but my watch was running -10 to -11 seconds per day pretty consistently. Went to the AD to have it sent to RSC for adjustment the other day and ended up getting hooked up with an Explorer too. I know they don't have the demand of other models but they're still not typically in cases. Not bad on either front. Was also offered a Deep Blue a week ago but already picked up a DSSD and am happy with it. Seems more models are much more available recently. Hoping for a GMT II this year too!

That's mighty impressive for three months... I waited over two years for this :( and have been chasing a Rolex for three.

Congratulations on your first and happy birthday!

The SD43 is an amazing watch, especially for someone who desires a little more size and presence! Give yourself some time with your new watch and don’t go jumping to the next so quickly. You’ll enjoy it more and more each day!

Congrats

Your frustration was dissipated by one of the most stunning Rolex references ever. I got mine late 2019 for my 50th birthday coming mid 2020:-)
It says hi to you.

Congratulations and welcome to the club, great reference.

I believe I received the first one in Canada if not North America back in 2017

Take your time and just enjoy the watch. I also have a 7" wrist and have a CHNR. In my opinion 40MM is just too small. I would drop the Hulk and CHNR.
They are duplicative of what you already have.

You can see how my CHNR stacks up against a few of my other sport watches. I think for a 7" wrist that a Submariner and GMT is too feminine and small. Skip them....
