New - need advice

Hi everyone,
I'm in love with the Rolex Day-Date. Unfortunately, I don't have the 40 K$ to buy a new one.

Do you think I can find one around 10 K $ CAD(Canadian) ? If so, which year ?

Do you have any recommandation where to buy that model ?

Thank you everyone

Don’t give up just yet, do u have any special skills ?
Canadians know how to play hockey, and maybe even some native dances ?

You are in a troubling predicament. My of us would like an extra 40K that currently doesn’t exist. Luckily, you can get a very nice two tone datejust for around 6-12K USD depending on if new, used, size etc. If you get it with a champagne dial, it still has a very nice gold presence while not being as boldly gold all-over as the day-date, which to me makes it a better all-purpose watch. The stainless steel datejusts are also beautiful, and look similar to the white gold day dates. Good luck.

Not unless you want to go vintage, and dont expect to have one in great condition with a non-stretched bracelet either.

Hey Frank Bro, quit dreaming. Maybe you can find yourself a recently divorced or widowed lady who despises her ex husband and she might have a daydate lyinig around that she would unload to you for 10,000 canadian which is about $6700.00USD. I heard you might have some luck on an amazing seniors dating site called www.sixtyandme.com
Good luck Frankie Bro!

You can afford an 1803 on a strap. Probably no box or documentation with it. It's still the day date you want... just vintage.

If you have $10K get a new Datejust... They are beautiful and will probably be more fulfilling than an older DD.

^I got to agree with this one. At this point, you should find a nice DJ.

You might be able to find 1803 DD in fair condition with no bracelet, but it would be quite a hunt and might be an unsatisfying proposal when comparing it to the modern DDs.

I love the 1803 series, but I would want the full kit (watch + bracelet) in good condition which will exceed your price limit.

You can't find it. Datejust is the way to go.

I realize, if you have the 116610LN, which is a nice rolex, and you want to upgrade to something like the president, you might find the datejust broing. I'm with this guy. If you don't save up the 40 grand, you can probably find a great president for around 30k.

Welcome to the forum Frank

In that price range, I’d be looking for a BNIB Date Just. Lots of beautiful references to choose from

If a DD on a strap is ok, you should be able to find a nice one for CAD$10K. It’ll be an 1803, 1807, or perhaps 18038 or 18078. (With bracelet at that price will likely not be a good one.) Patrick/OCWatchguy recently sold me this very nice Wide Boy Sigma 1803 on strap for about 10% over that number, HQMilton has an 1803 listed for about the same $. Buy from one of the trusted, established sellers here and you’ll be fine.

You may be able to get a very old Day Date on a strap, you may be better off purchasing a Date Just. Good luck

Welcome to the forum! I’d say (as I’m sure many here will) if you just drop the day complication you’d be on for a nice DJ! Even get a TT one to bling it up!
